How to overcome the influence of fortune telling on me?

Never mind fortune telling, because now is a scientific society, and everyone clearly knows that their destiny is in their own hands. No matter what others say, that's just their objective view, not their own. Once, a fortune-teller told me that "your children seem to have made no achievements in their studies", but I didn't listen to her at all. Now that I'm a graduate student, I just ignore what they say.
