The Development History of Shijiu Port

Formerly known as Shijiu Island, it was named Shijiu Village in Ming Dynasty and later changed to Shijiu Station. Now it is renamed Rizhao Port. Shijiu Port, with Yisi Mountain in the north and Kuishan Mountain in the south, is wide and deep, free from freezing and silting, with good geological conditions, and has the advantage of building a deep-water wharf. There used to be a small dock with little throughput. 1966, a passenger and cargo ship dock is built at Longwang Temple in the southeast of the dock.
