The origin of the name of Longwang Temple

Legend has it that three thousand years ago, there was a sea in Wang Yang, and there was an island in the sea where an old man lived.

One day, the clouds were overcast, the wind was strong, the thunder and lightning were thundering, the wind and rain were mixed, and the waves were monstrous. The tide invaded the island, and after the tide receded, the island left a piece of sandalwood, which was the embodiment of the Dragon King in the East China Sea.

It took me many years to carve a statue of the dragon king.

When the old man saw that the real dragon king had landed on the island, he built a temple on the island and named it "Dragon King Temple" for incense.

Later generations, whenever there was a drought, people carried the Dragon King out and swam to the countryside to beg for rain. But when they saw the dragon suddenly dripping, they went back to the temple and went to the "Feitian Well" in the west of the temple to get water.

The ancient road went west. In the Tang Dynasty, a monk took over the Longwang Temple and expanded it, so it was renamed "Yin Chao Academy".

Because I heard the roar of the tide.

The main hall of "Chaoyinyuan" faces south, with east and west wings on both sides. The west wing is where the statue of the Dragon King is located, looking east at the sea; There are three officials in the East Room.

To the south is the gate with an arch.

There is a ginkgo tree behind the main hall, and its trunk is surrounded by three talents, which is dozens of feet high. From a distance, it flies like a dragon, and the whole building is magnificent.

From generation to generation, people often raised funds to build the Longwang Temple, and one famous monk after another won fame for the Longwang Temple.

Until the Anti-Japanese War, the temple was intact and the place was very lively.

Unfortunately, it was burned by the Japanese invaders in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
