Aside from foreign affairs, Taoism was the most popular in the Song Dynasty. All the emperors in the Song Dynasty were infatuated with the elixir, and they longed for immortality. So Taoist temples blossomed everywhere in the Song Dynasty.

The emperors of the Song Dynasty died so early because they used a lot of alchemy medicine, which contained a lot of chemicals. Now look at the irony.
