Lingshan Temple is located in the north of Qiongshanfu Town, Haikou, Hainan. Tiannan Temple was built in Song Dynasty and renamed Tianning Temple in Yuan Dynasty. It was damaged in the earthquake of Ming Dynasty 1425, and was rebuilt by the magistrate Cheng Ying in 1443. In particular, Mingshan Society donated money to rebuild Guanyin Pavilion, Xiudian Hall, Pu 'an Hall, Four Heavenly Kings and other palaces. All the Buddha statues were carved with gold and painted with gold, and the temple was packed.

In 200 1 year, Hainan Provincial Government agreed to the request of Qiongshan Municipal Government at that time to rebuild Tianning Temple in Lingshan Town Cultural Park (renamed Lingshan Temple for local reasons), and Hainan Provincial Religious Affairs Department invited Hisense, abbot of Yuanzhao Temple in Wutai Mountain, to be the abbot of Lingshan Temple.

Under the leadership of the abbot, Lingshan Temple, built by many efforts, reappears its former style, covering an area of 357 mu and a construction area of 20,000 ㎡. The provincial religious affairs department issued a certificate of the venue for religious activities, and held an opening ceremony on February 18, 2002, which was officially opened to the public.
