Pingxiang is a prefecture-level city in Jiangxi Province and an important member of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. It is located in the west of Jiangxi Province, bordering Yichun City in the east, Ji 'an City in the south, Zhuzhou City in Hunan Province in the west and Liuyang City in Hunan Province in the north.

Pingxiang city belongs to the subtropical humid monsoon climate zone, with four distinct seasons, mild climate, abundant sunshine, short frost period and long crop growth period. In the plain area, there are two long seasons in summer and winter. In summer, the days are long and the nights are short; in winter, the days are short and the nights are long; in spring and autumn, the time is short. Pingxiang dialect is a local dialect between Jiangxi dialect and Hunan dialect. It originated in Chu State and has been echoed by other dialects.
