Basic introduction of Biyun Temple

Biyun Temple is a famous religious tourist attraction in Beijing.

Located at the eastern foot of Xiangshan Mountain, formerly known as Biyun Temple, it was built in the Yuan Dynasty, and it is the best preserved temple in Xishan Scenic Area, similar to Lingyin Temple in West Lake. The whole temple covers an area of more than 40,000 meters, and there are places of interest such as Luohan Hall, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Shuiquan Garden and King Kong Throne Tower. The temple has beautiful scenery and towering pines and cypresses. Outside the mountain gate, there is a suspended stone bridge. Under the bridge is a ravine five feet deep, and beside the ravine is a tall willow tree. The water at the bottom of the ravine gurgles and will not dry up all year round. There are a pair of famous stone lions in front of the door. There are six floors from the mountain gate to the top of the temple. There are four halls on the central axis of the mountain gate, and the back compartment of the hall is a lively, tall, mighty and brave general. The front hall is a chubby Maitreya Buddha. In the middle is the Hall of Sakyamuni. There are beautifully carved golden dragon algae wells and golden dragons in the hall. In the middle is the statue of Sakyamuni when he was giving a lecture, surrounded by his disciples and arhats. Behind the main hall is the newly renovated Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, where pines and cypresses are green and lush. Inside the hall is a statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and there is a FRP coffin sent by the Soviet government 1925 in the northwest corner of the main hall. As Dr. Sun Yat-sen has gone to the funeral, he has to stay here as a memorial. There is also a showroom of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's deeds in the yard. 500 Luohan Hall, West Yard of Biyun Temple. Each arhat is about 1.5 meters high, with lifelike shapes and dragons. Climb the stairs from sun yat-sen memorial hall and cross the 34-meter archway, which is the tallest building in the whole temple: King Kong Throne Tower, which is 34.7 meters high, is a famous tower in the suburbs of Beijing and the commanding height at the eastern foot of Xishan Mountain. Climb to the top of the tower and you can see the scenery in the suburbs of Beijing. Take the same bus to Biyun Temple, Xiangshan Temple and Sleeping Buddha Temple. Generally, you should go to the Sleeping Buddha Temple first, and then go to Xiangshan and Biyun Temple.
