Changshu temple fortune telling

There are many famous temples in China. When Shaolin Temple is mentioned, people will think of Jet Li's first film. When it comes to Jinshan Temple (Jiangtian Temple), people will think of the Shuijinshan Mountain of the White Snake. When it comes to Suoguo Temple, people will think of Master Lu pulling weeping willows. Every temple in our country has its own story.

Some temples are famous for stories, while others are famous for a poem. For example, Zhang Ji's only masterpiece, a night-mooring near maple bridge, made Hanshan Temple a "network celebrity" temple in Suzhou. In ancient times, many literati and poets went to temples, and their poems were engraved on tablets. There is a poem that I learned in junior high school. I don't know it is related to a temple in Changshu, Jiangsu.

This temple is the Happiness Temple at the northern foot of Yushan Mountain in Changshu. It used to have a very interesting name, called "Broken Mountain Temple". One morning, Chang Jian, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, visited the temple and wrote the poem "Zen residence behind the broken mountain temple": on a pure morning, near the ancient temple, the morning light pointed to the treetops. A winding path leads to a hidden place, and the Buddhist temple is surrounded by branches and flowers. Here, birds are singing and mountains are shining, people's hearts are touching the pool, everything is quiet, and the bells are ringing.

Although this poem can still be memorized completely, it was only for homework at that time, and I didn't pay attention to where it was written. Many years later, I went to work in Suzhou, and when I was on a business trip in Changshu, I took a break to visit Kofukuji, only to suddenly realize that "Oh, that poem came from here" and became interested in it instantly. Of course, Happiness Temple is called "Broken Mountain Temple" not because it is broken, but because it is located in a place called "Broken Longxi" in Yushan, hence its name.

Kofukuji was founded in Nanqi, and it was also the most fierce period for China to build temples. It has a history of 1500 years, formerly known as "Dabei Temple". After the expansion in Nanliang period, it was renamed "Fushou Temple", which is also called "Duanshan Temple" because it is located next to Duanlongxi. It was not until the death of Chang Jian, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty 100 that he wrote poems for the Broken Mountain Temple in Cui Li, that Tang Yizong got the title of "Kofukuji", which has been used ever since.

Changshu Kofukuji, as a famous temple in the south of the Yangtze River, has been repeatedly abandoned, but the incense remains the same. In addition to the main buildings such as the Heavenly King Hall, the Ursa Hall and the Fatang Hall, there are also landscapes such as the Tiger Salvation Pavilion, the Hollow Pond and the Gentleman Spring, which not only retain the simplicity of the temple, but also have the elegance and luxury of Jiangnan gardens. The ancient trees in the temple are towering, and it is also a good place to escape the heat in hot summer. Tired of shopping, it is a beautiful thing to drink a cup of green tea and eat a bowl of vegetarian noodles here.

Yushan, where Kofukuji is located, is a treasure of Changshu, and it is also a blessed place for rock climbers and photographers to punch cards. Climbing to the top of the mountain, you can overlook the whole city of Changshu, and have a panoramic view of Shang Hu and Kuncheng Lake. Especially in the most open season in summer, you can also see the Tiger Hill in Suzhou in the south. If you like photography, you can also come here to see the sunrise and sunset in Qinchuan and feel the tranquility and profundity.

I have been to Kofukuji in Changshu once, but I once again know the song "Zen after the Broken Mountain Temple".
