Gaochun County is located in the southwest of Jiangsu Province, bordering Liyang and Lishui in the east and north, and Dangtu, Xuanzhou and langxi in the southwest. Gaochun has a long history and profound cultural heritage. The Xuecheng site in the territory shows the human civilization more than 6,000 years ago. The site of the ancient city is the location of Wulai Zhu Yi in the Spring and Autumn Period, which is 208 years earlier than the ancient city of Jinling. The Sugagawa dug by Wu Zixu is the earliest artificial canal in China and even in the world, and it still plays a shipping role. Folk Wushu, such as fighting the water margin and pyramid-shaped arhat, has lasted for a long time and has been rated as "the hometown of national Wushu"; Traditional folk songs and dances, such as Bangxian Dance and Mulian Opera, have a long history. Dance in Cabin 5, a Nuo dance originated in the Western Zhou Dynasty, was listed in the UNESCO list. Gaochun dialect, with the charm of prosperous Tang Dynasty, is the only existing ancient Wu dialect in China. When Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty went to the south of the Yangtze River, he gave Gaochun the reputation of "the Holy Land of the South of the Yangtze River".

Shipbuilding and water transport industry enjoys the reputation of "the first county of civil shipbuilding and water transport in China". At present, there are 1.073 ships in the county, with a tonnage of 1.557 million tons, among which Wujiazui Village, a professional shipbuilding and water transport village, has been rated as "the richest village in Jinling" for 12 years. In aquaculture, "Gucheng Lake" hairy crabs have the reputation of "four firsts", such as the first national-level hairy crab stock farm in the province, the first national ecological breeding standard for river crabs, the only national-level comprehensive demonstration zone for standardized production of hairy crabs in the province, and the first national organic crab certification certificate. Last year, the ecological culture scale of crabs in the county reached 265,438+10.00 million mu, with an output value of 680 million yuan. The border trade is developed, with five major professional markets, namely Gaochun Aquatic Products Wholesale Market, the largest professional wholesale market for crabs in China, and 6,543,800,000 consumers in the hinterland of southern Anhui.
