History of Shijiu Street

Shijiu has a long history and culture, and there are many places of interest. Located in the north of Shijiu 1000 meters, it is the isolated "hometown of the east foot" in Jiang Taigong, and there is a fishing ground named "Jinjin" in Jiang Taigong near Wanpingkou. Shijiu, about 2 kilometers north, is the site of "Minwangtai" in the Warring States Period. Dawenkou Culture and Longshan Culture Site are 2 kilometers southwest of Donghai Yu Village. A high-handle cup with black pottery holes in its eggshell was unearthed. The southwest corner of the coast is said to be the place where the Eight Immortals crossed the sea. There are traces of immortals sitting and lying on the rocks, which are called "Eight Immortals Stone". In the southeast corner, there is a huge natural "automatic stone", also known as ghost stone, which goes with the flow and beats drums. The ancients once wrote the word "secret shake", aiming at carving stones. There are two "sea monuments" written by Shen 'an, a resident of Rizhao, which are known in Ming Dynasty, at the southeast of Dragon Palace15m. One said, "The wind and waves are in the sky", and the other said, "The tide of ten thousand factions." There is a Longwang Temple in front of Jiapei Village, 4 kilometers south of Shijiu. The mountain gate faces the sea and is antique. The hall is magnificent with carved beams and painted buildings.

In the thirty-first year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 16 1), the interest rate boat of Cishibao in western Zhejiang sailed north by sea. In case of strong wind, he stationed troops here, and by virtue of its natural conditions, he defeated the nomadic people. The emperor gave the four-character flag of "loyalty and courage" and sealed the Jingshi Navy.

After the "opening of the sea ban" in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, merchants from Shijiu came and went, fishing boats gathered, and gradually became a commercial port, and the shipping and commercial transportation industries also developed. In the 30th year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1904), Li Kairong, a native of Shijiuyuan, founded Gong Shunfu, built the first five-masted gale ship in the county, with a load of 2,000 cakes (about 70 tons) and made the first sea voyage. In the early years of the Republic of China, there were more than 50 five-mast windmills, more than 20 three-mast windmills, and more than 0/0 ships with a load of 10000 cakes. There are more than 100 large and small enterprises and more than 20 entertainment places. In the middle of the Republic of China, represented by He Zhongwu, Changji Shipping Company was established in Qingdao. Shijiu has become the main trade port and material distribution center along the southeast coast of Shandong Province. The Japanese army burned and looted, and there was a "mass grave" near Shijiu seaside (near HKU Shipyard and Wanpingkou Beach). In the late period of the Anti-Japanese War, the coastal organization set up the general store "Fu Bin Commercial Store" in Shijiu, which was a transit point for anti-Japanese materials, and bought a large number of munitions, daily necessities and communication equipment from Shanghai, which were transported to the base area by Shijiu. 1978, building a small and medium-sized commercial and fishing wharf at the headland of Shijiu Island. 1985, the special wharf for coal export was completed and put into operation. After the opening of Yanshi Railway, Shijiu became the eastern bridgehead of the new Eurasian Continental Bridge.

Shijiu faces the sea in the east, Kuishan in the south and Silk Mountain in the north. There is no cold in winter, no heat in summer and a pleasant climate. The lighthouse by the sea is the best place to watch the sunrise at sea. As far back as the Ming and Qing dynasties, "looking at the sea in a stone mortar" was a literati. In midsummer, domestic and foreign guests come in an endless stream, bathing in the beach and enjoying the beautiful scenery on the beach. To the northwest 10 km, the stone carving "Rizhao" is the best in the world.

Shijiu sea area is vast, the seabed is sandy, and the water is clear and not silted. This is a natural shelter from the wind. The water depth of the outer estuary is18m, and warships and large cargo ships can be parked, while wind boats and aircraft boats can be parked in the inner estuary.
