What temples are there in Zibo?

The famous temples are Hui Yuan Temple, Zhao Pu Temple, Mituo Temple and Kannonji.

1, Hui Yuan Temple: Hui Yuan Temple is located in Daiyu Lake Scenic Area, Zhangdian District, Zibo City. It was founded by Master Daohong, a monk in the Northern Song Dynasty. When it was first established, it was a magnificent and large-scale Buddhist shrine.

After several historical changes, the modern Hui Yuan ancient temple has been completely destroyed. Construction resumed in 2002. It is equipped with facilities such as the mountain gate, the Heavenly King Hall, the Ursa Major Hall, and the east and west wings. It was completed and put into use in 2007.

Zhao Pu Temple: Zhao Pu Temple is located in Liu Xian Lake Park, Zichuan District, Zibo City. The temple was built in the first year of Chen in the Southern Dynasty (567) or in the first year of Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577). In the Tang Dynasty, it was Hui Numa, the third ancestor of Faxiangzong, who preached the Dharma. At that time, there was a stone Buddha pedestal in the temple, carved with flying statues; There is also the classic building of "The Mahayana Sutra" written by Li Yong, and an octagonal 13-story stone tower, which is no longer there.

3. Mituo Temple: Mituo Temple is located in the east of Xishi Village, Ezhuang Township, Zichuan District, Zibo City, Shandong Province, on Sanfo Mountain, separated from the village by a river. Mituo Temple is divided into seven building courtyards: upper, lower, front and back, half cliff, Jade Emperor's top and pagoda. Sanfo Mountain is famous for its three stone pagodas at the top of the mountain. These three stone pagodas look very much like three Buddha statues, namely Sakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha and Maitreya Buddha.

Mituo Temple is an ancient temple group, which was founded in the Tang Dynasty. According to reports, on the west side of the Bell and Drum Tower, next to the temple mill, there is a poplar tree with a trunk circumference of more than three meters. Because of its thick and hollow trunk, there are three stone tablets inside, one of which is exposed outside, and the words "Zhenguan Mituo Temple in Tang Dynasty" are engraved on the surface of the tablet. Up to now, the legend of "Tree Taking Medicine Tablets" on Sanfo Mountain has been circulated among the people.

Kannonji: Kannonji is located in the east of Han Zhuang Village, Chishang Town, Boshan District, Zibo City, with its back to Maha mountain and its south to Fushan, the former site of Liu Depei Uprising. Legend has it that a long time ago, there were many monsters here. It was Guanyin Bodhisattva who went to Leiyin Temple and asked the Tathagata to catch ghosts and surrender, hence the name Kannonji.

Kannonji was founded in the Tang Dynasty, and it was restored many times in the Song and Qing Dynasties. There are more than a dozen halls such as Daxiong Hall and Guanyin Pavilion. According to the existing nine-story stone pagodas, the level of Kannonji is equivalent to that of an ancient temple in Han Dynasty, and it is a famous temple in Shandong Province.

In 2002, with the support of believers from all over the world, Master Shi Renqing tried his best to build the Lotus Temple on the ruins of the Seven Gods Hall, adding another piece of pure land to China.

2. Boshan Zhengjue Temple: Boshan Zhengjue Temple in Shandong Province is located in Lianhua Mountain, Anshang Village, Boshan District, Zibo City, Shandong Province. It faces south and is surrounded by mountains on three sides. The mountains are lush with trees and colorful clouds. Zhengjue Temple was founded in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and rebuilt in the Song and Jin Dynasties, with a history of 1700 years.

3. Niushan Temple: Niushan Temple is located in Beishan West Village, Qiling Street, Linzi District, Zibo City, Shandong Province, with Niu Shan and Guanzhong Mausoleum at its northern foot. Niu Shan Zen Temple has a history of more than 1000 years. The incense in the temple is continuous and the Buddha's voice is loud. Later, after various wars and disasters, the temple collapsed and the Buddha's nature was destroyed. This ancient temple was razed to the ground. Now restart the reconstruction, and the completed temple will become a rare place to learn Buddhism in the red dust.
