Where is Kuitun?

Kuitun belongs to Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China (PRC).

Located in the middle of the northern foot of Tianshan Mountain, in the southwest of Junggar Basin, it borders Shawan County in Tacheng District in the east, Wusu City in Tacheng District in the west, Huyanghe City and Karamay District in Karamay City in the north and Dushanzi District in Karamay City in the south. The city has jurisdiction over 5 streets, 1 township, Kuitun-Dushanzi Economic and Technological Development Zone and Tianbei New District.

Kuitun city is located at the edge of the piedmont alluvial fan on the northern slope of Tianshan Mountain, with an altitude of 450 ~ 530 meters. There are no mountains and peaks in the territory.
