Why is Ningbo called Ningbo?

Ningbo was famous for Yin in Xia Dynasty, Mingzhou in Tang Dynasty, and Hongwu in Ming Dynasty for fourteen years (A.D. 138 1). It was renamed as Ningbo, which means "Boning is the rule of the sea and the border" and has been in use ever since.

Ningbo is called "Yong" for short, which was called as early as the Zhou Dynasty. The word "Yong" is the hieroglyphic of the ancient clock. On the boundary between Yin and Feng counties, the peaks are very similar to ancient clocks, so it is called Yongshan, this river is called Yongjiang, and this area is called "Yong".
