There is a special musical instrument in southern Fujian called Daguangxian, which is a folk huqin popular in Taiwan Province Province of China and southern Fujian of China. It is often used as rap and music accompaniment of Taiwanese opera in the two places.

Popular folk songs in southern Fujian are influenced by Nanguan music. Music accompaniment is mainly based on instruments such as Daguangxian, Yueqin, Erxian, Sanxian, flute, drum and suona, and martial arts instruments are rarely used.
