What is forbidden on Halloween? In the seventh month of the lunar calendar, China is used to calling it Ghost Moon, which means that the door of death is always open and ghosts can travel on the earth. July 14 is the heaviest day of Ghost Month. Legend has it that at midnight on this day, if you stay in the wild, you will see the wonders of ghosts walking at night. Hundreds of ghosts came to Naihe Bridge, and the ghost department led them with red lanterns and came to Yang's long-lost world. So this night is not suitable for going out.

The seventh month of the lunar calendar, commonly known as "Ghost Moon", has many taboos. Do you know which taboos must not be violated? The secret of self-protection of Ghost Moon is made public, so that you can understand all kinds of taboos of Ghost Moon, learn the correct way of worshipping God, seek good fortune and avoid evil, and be safe and healthy forever!

Don't hang clothes in the middle of the night.

Wet clothes are easy for free waves to stick to and not easy to come out. Hanging clothes in the middle of the night is like setting a trap for catching ghosts in the ghost month where ghosts are everywhere. Who bothers you?

◎ Avoid sleeping with long hair

During the ghost month, wandering ghosts were everywhere. If you have long hair, be careful that they mistake you for the same kind and insist that you get up and chat.

Physiological taboo

People think that female compatriots are unclean during their physiological period, and it is not appropriate to watch things like construction and sacrifice, so as not to offend the gods, cause misfortune, or make the fortifications unable to proceed smoothly.

Whether this statement is true or not, female compatriots should be more cautious during the physiological period because their physical condition is really susceptible to other powerful magnetic fields.

Don't celebrate your birthday at midnight.

People born in July are a little pathetic. When you celebrate your birthday at night, there will probably be some unknown "people" singing birthday songs together. It's better to celebrate during the day.

Don't catch dragonflies and owls.

Folk believe that these two kinds of insects are the embodiment of ghosts. Grab at will and be careful to attract ghosts to the door.

◎ Avoid talking nonsense.

On the day of Purdue in the Central Plains, their nests were almost full of ghosts, especially the scene of Purdue Fa Conference, which was absolutely full of ghosts.

Therefore, when you are in Purdue, you'd better be careful what you say. Don't talk nonsense except the word "ghost". Be careful of ghosts around you!

◎ Avoid stepping on paper.

Ghost paper is a sacrifice for ghosts. When it burns, ghosts will come around and grab it. If you step on it and jump around, it won't hinder their actions. When a ghost is angry, it will naturally be bad for you.

◎ Avoid patting others on the shoulder.

This taboo is related to folk customs. People think that everyone has three fires, which gather on his shoulders and overhead, which will make ghosts afraid to get close. Therefore, in Purdue, the Central Plains where ghosts are the most, you can pat others on the shoulder at will, just to put out the fire of the other party and let ghosts find trouble with him.

Salute the door

On the first day of July, as soon as the "gate of hell" is opened, all the ghosts who are allowed to go back to the underworld to visit relatives will flock out of the underworld and rush out to grab food and offerings.

Therefore, on the afternoon of the first day of the Ghost Moon, every family has to make sacrifices in front of their own doors, which is called "worshipping the door". Because we just let the passing brothers have a rest and eat something and pray that they will not invade their families in their own houses, we don't need to provide too many offerings. Usually we just need to do the following things.

1. Five-flavor bowl, cake, @

2. Insert a wick into each offering and pray that the brothers will like it and continue on their way.

3. burn some silver paper and clothes.

Water discharge lamp

In earlier years, most water lanterns were placed in rivers, so they were also called "river lanterns". Because most of the river lanterns at that time were made of sawdust or pieces of paper, candles were placed in the lotus beds downstream, so they were also called "lotus lanterns".

The original intention of "water lamp" is to show sympathy for the dead who drowned in the water, fearing that they would not find their way home. Therefore, the ceremony of "Water Lantern" was held ceremoniously the night before Purdue. I hope that under the guidance of "Water Lantern", the deceased can follow the water lantern, return to the deceased and enjoy Purdue sacrifice.

Others: (1) Don't put chopsticks on the rice bowl when eating. Its shape is like putting incense on an incense burner, which will attract good brothers to share food with you …

(2) Don't whistle at night, and be careful that good brothers like you.

(3) Don't go swimming in dangerous waters. Legend has it that the "water ghost" will find someone to be a scapegoat in order to be reborn …

In China, there is a saying that the seventh month of the lunar calendar 14, also called Ghost Festival or Magnolia Festival, is a big festival to worship ghosts and gods. Ghost Festival originated from Taoism, and later Buddhism changed it to what is now commonly known as Ghost Festival. In India, Magnolia Festival means "hanging upside down". "Hanging upside down" means that after the death of the mother of the ten sons of Sakyamuni, she was hungry and could not eat. Later, I got help from Sakyamuni. Support the ten gods and buddhas with a hundred flavors and five fruits, and save the mother with merits. So now, in order to worship the ghosts, Purdue Festival is held in July of the lunar calendar, which is now called Ghost Festival. Generally speaking, in ancient times, people were reluctant to do important things such as getting married this month. The second statement: Regarding the origin of the Ghost Festival, it is said that the Tibetan Bodhisattva, also known as [Yan Ye], came to the underworld of the Yin Dynasty after her mother's death and was imprisoned in her cell. He is a dutiful son and can't bear to see his mother suffer. On July 15, he had an affair and asked the boy guarding the cell to secretly open the cell door and let his mother out. Who knows this? Those ghosts who run back to their hometown ask for money from home, let them go back to life and get through their joints, hoping to support their lives as soon as possible. Later, people designated this day as Ghost Festival. On this day, people burn paper money and offer sacrifices to show their respect for their deceased relatives. Ten taboos of Halloween, also known as Meng Lanjie 1. Don't wear clothes with your own name when you travel at night, lest you be called. 2. It is best to call each other nicknames for the same reason as 1. Don't use flashlights everywhere, especially in trees, because many of them like to hide in trees. 4. Don't pat your friends on the head and shoulders, because there are three fires in one person's head and shoulders. None of them, he is not perfect, he is easy to be caught. Remember to worship before going to the cemetery, and don't burn paper (silver paper). Burning gold paper is for that. The cemetery is definitely not divided enough, but it will bring trouble. The golden paper is for God. Please pray for God's blessing. 6. When you pass by the grave, be sure to say hello and excuse me. 7. Don't stick your chest on the ground, especially in shady places (including toilets), because there is a gossip on your chest, which can lead to Yin Qi. You will see the boldness you shouldn't see and try it with people who want to see you. 8. Try to wear protective amulets (such as incense sticks and beads). ) and less offensive (such as the Diamond Sutra) to avoid being "angry" with that ... 9. Those who are light-hearted try to travel at night less. 10. If you are unlucky, please don't panic and settle down to solve the problem. The way is ... bury your head in the bed ... and recite the Diamond Sutra a hundred times.

What are the six taboos of Halloween? First, don't put chopsticks in the middle of the bowl when eating.

Chopsticks are inserted in the rice in the middle of the bowl, which is the pattern of worship. Eating at ordinary times is a fashion taboo, not to mention July 15, so as not to believe in ghosts and gods by mistake.

Second, try not to wander in the wild at night.

According to legend, July is the day when the gates of hell are wide open and ghosts wander outside, especially on July 15th, because it is a sunny day, and it is said that Yin Qi is the most prosperous. So don't go out this evening, lest something bad happen to you.

If you really need to go out, don't call each other names to avoid bad things.

Remember to take the clothes back at night.

In many local customs, there are taboos about not drying clothes outside at night, especially children's clothes.

On July 15, Yin Qi is the most abundant. According to legend, there are many ghosts and gods. Remember to take back your clothes and don't leave them outside.

Fourth, don't forget to worship your ancestors.

On July 15, people will worship their ancestors and often prepare more food and offerings for those ghosts.

Lonely ghosts without children still have this treatment. If they are descendants and don't sacrifice their ancestors, wouldn't they forget their ancestors and turn them into wandering souls who don't sacrifice? Therefore, we must not sacrifice to our ancestors.

Fifth, you must be pious when you worship your ancestors.

Sacrificing ancestors expressed their memory and nostalgia for their ancestors. Therefore, when offering sacrifices, we must be respectful and sincere. Don't smile, laugh, hum a tune, and behave frivolously, thus ruining the atmosphere of ancestor worship.

6. Don't eat food sacrificed by others.

The food sacrificed on the 15th of July is either for one's ancestors or for ghosts, and cannot be eaten as human beings.

"Ghost Festival" is the Mid-Autumn Festival, also called "July and a half", and Buddhism is called "Bonsai Festival". The Mid-Autumn Festival is on July 15th of the lunar calendar, and some of them are also celebrated on July 14th. On this day, people take sacrifices to the graves to pay homage to their ancestors, similar to Tomb-Sweeping Day's grave-sweeping.

Counting the legends of China's three major Halloween festivals, what are the taboos? Lunar July 15, also known as Mid-Autumn Festival.

Taoist festivals can correspond to traditional folk customs, mainly based on the same world view: the three realms of heaven, earth and water, deified as the three realms of government under the jurisdiction of heaven, earth and water officials, and the three realms of god, commonly known as the three realms of public. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty in China, Taoism in Shi Tian had integrated the pre-Taoist world outlook. After the first visit to the shrine, three officials will write calligraphy and throw it into the sky, the earth and the water respectively to express their remorse and pray for peace. After the development of the Six Dynasties, the three-day meeting was combined with the ternary thought. In the Tang Dynasty, the three-day meeting of Shangyuan, Zhongyuan and Xia Yuan was officially finalized and became a ternary festival to pray for Emperor Xuanyuan (Tai Shang Lao Jun and Lao Zi). The emperor led hundreds of officials to attend the festival ceremony. After the Tang and Song Dynasties, it has become a folk festival.

On the fifteenth day of the first month, Han people call it Shangyuan Festival to celebrate Yuanxiao, which has existed since ancient times. On July 15, the Han people called the Mid-Autumn Festival a festival to worship ancestors. 1October15th, the Han people call it the next yuan festival, which is a cold food to commemorate the sages.

* * * It is a traditional folk custom of the Han nationality to set off river lanterns and pray for blessings by Taoist priests in the Mid-Autumn Festival. Buddhism and Taoism have different interpretations of the significance of this festival. Taoism emphasizes filial piety; Buddhism, on the other hand, focuses on the "Purdue" of ghosts and ghosts released from the underworld.

Taoist festivals are divided into three times throughout the year (collectively referred to as Sanyuan), which is considered as another name for the three officials of heaven, earth and water. The 15th of the first month, the 15th of July and the 15th of October are the birthdays of the three officials respectively. According to the records of Five Magazine, the Daojing takes the 15th day of the first month as Shang Yuan, the 15th day of July as Zhong Yuan, and the 15th day of October as Xia Yuan. The fifteenth day of the first month is called Shangyuan, which is mainly a blessing ceremony. July 15 is called the central plains, which is used to forgive the sins of the dead. (Zhongyuan ceremony is to forgive the sins of the dead, but it can never be completely relieved, just mitigated. I hope they can rest in peace soon. ); 10 15 was called Xia Yuan, in order to alleviate the bad luck of those who were at fault. Taoism's "Three Official Classics of Taishang" says: God helps the people, the local officials forgive sins, the water officials release Eritrea, and all beings are under the water officials of heaven and earth. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, Taoist temples such as the Fire Temple in Di 'anmen and the Baiyun Temple outside Xibianmen held a blessing and auspicious Dojo as usual to pray for good weather, peace and prosperity. Because of fear, people combine Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism in their daily lives, which becomes the Mid-Autumn Festival in July 15 of the lunar calendar, and people call July the ghost month. [ 1]

After Buddhism was introduced, Buddhists recommended their ancestors according to a Buddhist ceremony in India. On this day, Buddhism also held a meeting to transcend Dharma, which was called ULLAMBANA (Indian word), that is, Menglan meeting. Dream orchid basin means hanging upside down. The pain of life is like a bat hanging upside down from a tree, which is very miserable. In order to save all living beings from the suffering of hanging upside down, we must recite scriptures and give ghosts food. This coincides with China's worship of the ghost moon, so the Mid-Autumn Festival and Menglan will be handed down at the same time. [2] There are many legends about Mid-Autumn Festival. The most important thing in Taoism is to practice. Remember that the Mid-Autumn Festival in mid-July, when local officials descended, good and evil on earth were decided. Taoist priests recite scriptures at night, and prisoners are free from hunger. Every year on the first day of the seventh lunar month, Yan Luowang opens the gate of hell, releasing a group of ghosts who are not worshipped and enjoying people's sacrifices among the dead. On the last day of July, these ghosts had to return to the underworld before the gate of hell closed again.

The bonihara Festival in Buddhism originated from the story of Mulian saving his mother, which came from the Tripitaka (Buddhism was introduced from India). The story of Manglietia Manglietia saving her mother: Among the disciples of Buddha, Manglietia Manglietia, the most powerful, misses her dead mother. With his magical power, he saw that his mother's greed was rewarded before her death, and after her death, she fell into evil spirits and lived a life without food. Mu Yulian used his divine power to turn it into food and gave it to his mother, but her mother did not change her greed. When she saw the food coming, she was afraid that other evil spirits would take her food. When the food is greedy, it immediately turns into charcoal and can't be swallowed. Although Mu Yulian has magical power, as the son of human beings, she can't save her mother, which is very painful. What about Buddha? Buddha said: July 15th is the last day of summer, full of dharma and goodness. On this day ... >>

How did July and a half Ghost Festival come about? Are there any taboos? The Mid-Yuan Festival, commonly known as Ghost Festival and July 30th, is called Bonin Festival in Buddhism. As a traditional folk festival, the name "Central Plains" originated in the Northern Wei Dynasty, when it was the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, and part of it was the 14th of July. It used to be Xiaoqiu, and a batch of crops were ripe. As a rule, people should worship their ancestors, provide new rice and other sacrifices, and report the situation in Qiu Cheng to their ancestors. Therefore, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, every family pays homage to their ancestors. On July 15, I went to visit the grave to worship my ancestors.

Taoism in the Eastern Han Dynasty set up three sessions and five cloudy days, among which July 7th was Delu, which was also the day when regular Taoist priests came to the hospital for examinations. The date of ancestor worship in July was later fixed on this day, and Taoism set the birthday of local officials in the Central Plains and the corresponding date of sacrifice on July 15.

Legend has it that all the ghosts were released to the underworld on that day, and people usually carry out activities to sacrifice ghosts. Where there is a new funeral, people will go to new graves, but generally speaking, ghosts and ghosts will sacrifice locally. Therefore, it is a festival centered on the whole worship of ghosts, and it is the largest ghost festival among the people in China.

The origin of festivals

The origin of Mid-Autumn Festival should be related to the popular land worship in ancient China. After the prevalence of Taoism, depending on tradition, three gods of heaven, earth and water were founded. It is said that Tianguan's birthday is on the fifteenth day of the first month, which is called Shangyuan Festival. Its main duty is to protect the world. The official's birthday is July 15, which is called the Mid-Yuan Festival. Its main duty is to atone for the world. Shui Guan's birthday is 10 15, which is called the Ten Thousand Yuan Festival. Its main duty is to help the world.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is on the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, commonly known as July and a half. Legend has it that all the ghosts were released in the underworld that day,

Mid-Autumn Festival "Miaopu"

People usually hold activities to worship ghosts. Where there is a new funeral, people will go to the new grave, but generally they will sacrifice to ghosts and gods in the local area. Therefore, it is a festival centered on the worship of ghosts, and it has become the largest ghost festival among the people in China.

It was a small autumn before July, and a batch of crops were ripe. As a rule, people should worship their ancestors, offer sacrifices, such as new rice, and report Qiu Cheng to their ancestors. Song Mengyuan's "Dream of China in Tokyo" said in Volume 1: "The day before Yuan Zhong, when I was enjoying the sacrifice, I bought whole branches and leaves (leaves of a fragrant plant) to line the table, and I also bought a nest of hemp seeds and tied them at the foot of the table. This was my ancestor Qiu Cheng's mind." China people who pay attention to filial piety should report to their ancestors and ask them to taste new things, so they make sacrifices to their ancestors in July. When I was in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, I saw people regard the Central Plains as a big festival. On this day, every family gets together as lively as New Year's Eve, and wants to eat a kind of vegetable balls specially wrapped in green leaves.

Legend has it that the underground palace is in charge of the gates of hell. On the Mid-Autumn Festival, the underground palace opens the door of hell, which is also the day when the deceased ancestors can go home and reunite. Therefore, it is also a ghost festival. Therefore, people should set up Dojo and put steamed bread for ghosts. On this day, they will worship their ancestors, go to graves and light lanterns to light the way home for the deceased. The Taoist temple held a grand ceremony to pray for the auspicious Dojo, the content of which was to cross over the soul of the deceased.

Zhongyuan ceremony is to atone for the dead, but it can never completely alleviate the sin, just a little.

May they rest in peace in the dry days. During the ceremony, they will not only turn over for the dead souls, but also save their friends from those who died for their country and died in battle. The sesame oil money obtained in the ceremony is mainly used to buy sacrifices.

According to Buddhist allusions, there are the following stories about the origin of "Yulan Festival": It is said that when Buddha Sakyamuni was alive, he accepted ten disciples, one of whom was a yogi named Mulian, and his parents died before he attained the Tao. Because Mulian was very concerned about her dead mother, he saw her life in the underworld with his eyes. It turns out that they have become hungry ghosts, have no food or drink, and are in a poor situation. Mulian felt very sad after reading it, so she used her magic power to bring some food to her mother. Unfortunately, as soon as the food was delivered to the mouth, it immediately turned into a flame. Mu Lian was very sad after seeing this situation, so he told Sakyamuni about it. The Buddha taught him that his mother planted many sins when she was alive, so she fell into the road of hungry ghosts after her death. This evil obstacle cannot be solved by him alone, so she must solve it. Later, this legend has been spread to later generations and gradually formed a folk custom. Every year in the middle of the seventh lunar month, people will slaughter chickens and ducks, burn incense and clothes, and worship the hungry ghosts coming out of the underworld, so as to resolve grievances and avoid harming the world. Over time, the custom of Halloween was formed.
