What is dark matter?

Dark matter is a substance smaller than electrons and photons. It has no charge and does not interfere with electrons. It can cross electromagnetic waves and gravitational fields and is an important part of the universe.

The density of dark matter is very small, but the quantity is huge, so its total mass is very large. They represent 26% of the matter content in the universe, of which less than 5% (about 4.9%) is visible to humans.

Dark matter cannot be directly observed, but it can interfere with the light waves or gravity emitted by stars and can clearly feel its existence. The earliest evidence of the existence of dark matter comes from the observation of the rotation speed of spherical galaxies. Modern astronomy shows that the density of the universe may be composed of about 68.3% dark energy, 4.9% baryon matter and 26.8% dark matter through gravitational lens, the formation of large-scale structure of the universe, astronomical observation and expansive cosmology research.
