Who is Shi Yonghai, a disciple of Master Xingyun?

Shi Yonghai is a disciple of Master Xingyun and an influential Buddhist monk in China. Master Shi Yonghai, formerly known as Zhang Minghong, was born in Fuzhou, Fujian in 196 1 and began to study Buddhism in his early years. He studied Buddhist philosophy at Foguangshan College in Taiwan Province Province, and then went to Japan for further study. He studied Buddhism with Master Xingyun and became the first disciple of Master Xingyun on 1993. Master Shi Yonghai's position in Buddhism is increasing day by day, and he is known as "the second generation descendant of Xingyun legal system" and "one of the top ten religious figures in China".
