Baolin Temple, formerly known as Liu Boan, was founded in 942 in the late Tang Dynasty and the Southern Han Dynasty in the Five Dynasties. Located at the western foot of Taiping Mountain in Daliang, Shunde City, it has always been dedicated to Guanyin. Later, a towering old tree grew in the temple, just like the forest covered by the seven treasures of the eastern and western worlds in Buddhist legend, so it was renamed "Baolin Temple".

Lin Si Temple is located between the green mountains and green waters, taking Tianmen Mountain in Yue Long, where the tiger lies in the phoenix pavilion, so-called Taiping Ruiqi. The temple pavilion is built on the mountain and climbs up the stairs. Behind the stone archway in "Taiping Scenic Area" are many buildings such as Tianwang Hall, Jiulong Wall, Daxiong Hall and Luohantang.

According to legend, more than 2,000 years ago, Buddha Sakyamuni spent 49 days under a bodhi tree and became a Buddha. Therefore, the Millennium Bodhi tree in front of the Mahatma Hall was also enshrined as a Buddhist relic, attracting a large number of believers to worship, and it was covered with windmills and red wishing cloth.

The height of the III Buddha enshrined in the Mahatma Hall is about 10.3 m: from left to right, there are Amitabha Buddha in the west, Sakyamuni Buddha in the middle and Pharmacist Buddha in the east. It is worth mentioning that many Buddha statues in Baolin Temple, including these three statues, are not clay sculptures, but carved from camphor wood, emitting a faint woody fragrance.

Luotang is located behind the Hall of Ursa Major. Every day, good men and women come here to count arhats and measure good and bad luck. The way to count arhats is to start with any arhat and count down to arhats of the same age. It is said that identity, expression and action can tell the fate of numbers.

The Wanfo Hall, located at the highest point of the temple, is ingeniously designed. There are tens of thousands of golden lacquer Buddha statues in the hall. Kannonji of Lin Si Temple is surrounded by mountains and waters. A statue of pure gold Guanyin (height 1.68m, weight 37.3kg) donated by enthusiastic people is enshrined in the center of the temple, with a value of130,000 yuan. Guanyin statue is solemn and auspicious, accompanied by dragon and girl. The walls on both sides are dedicated to the eighteen phases of Guanyin.
