The Historical Evolution of Mengcun Town

Mengcun Town is located on Bailuyuan, which was called "Changshou Mountain" and "Bashang" in ancient times. It is a soil-like loess platform formed by natural forces such as running water and wind in the Middle Pleistocene, and its original surface is flat and complete. With a long history and ancient humanities, it is actually a cultural and historical origin.

In history, it was once a summer resort for royalty, merchants and literati. In the first year of Tang Decheng, gaozu Li Yuan hunted here and built "Shenyao Villa".

There are rich cultural relics and many temples, among which there are more than 70 recorded in Lantian County Records. The most famous are Liang Qing Temple, Taiping Temple and yongfu temple. There are 1000 monks in Taiping Temple. According to legend, Liang Qing Temple was once the summer resort of Emperor Taizong.
