History of Tianzun Pavilion

Fengtai Town, where Tianzunge is located, has a long history and profound cultural accumulation. It was once called the first town in JD.COM. The date of construction of the pavilion is unknown, and there are many sayings such as the early construction of the Tang Dynasty and the early construction of the Ming Dynasty. According to Feng Run County Records and existing inscriptions, Tianzun Pavilion was rebuilt in the Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty and painted in the eighth year of Xianfeng (1858). When the temple was abandoned in the late Qing Dynasty, it was changed to a school. Later, it was the seat of Fengtai Town Middle School. 1976 during the Tangshan earthquake, many houses collapsed nearby, leaving few high-rise buildings, but the main structure of Tianzunge was safe and sound, which provided an important example for studying the seismic performance of ancient wooden buildings in China and was of great research value. 1982, the pavilion was listed as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit in Tianjin and was renovated. 1996, the pavilion and Wenchang Palace were restored.
