Why do people still celebrate the Lunar Birthday?

I always celebrate the birthday of the Lunar New Year, probably because I come from the northeast countryside.

In my hometown, we all celebrate the Lunar Birthday. So far, the birthdays of several students I vaguely remember are also lunar birthdays, because they told me that they also celebrate lunar birthdays.

I don't think it's strange to celebrate my birthday in the New Year. Don't you celebrate the Spring Festival every year? Isn't the Spring Festival also the lunar calendar? Similarly, don't you also celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival? In addition to these lunar festivals, there are actually many lunar festivals, such as Chongyang, Laba, Xiaonian, Yuanxiao, Qixi, Ghost Festival and so on. Didn't you celebrate? Do you find it strange?

We live in an era with three calendars: lunar calendar, solar calendar and 24 solar terms.

Some of our festivals are lunar, such as Spring Festival, some are solar terms, such as National Day, and some are 24 solar terms, such as Qingming.

I'm used to it. I think it's okay. It's no trouble at all for me. The birthday on the ID card is in the solar calendar (but two days earlier). That's because my ID card is the Gregorian calendar and my birthday is the lunar calendar. This is because my parents celebrate their birthdays in the lunar calendar, and the birthdays that they and even their parents value are calculated according to the lunar calendar.

Indeed, birthdays are superstitious, just like constellations, completely unscientific. But in this life, someone will ask. When I was young, there were some fortune tellers in the village. These fortune tellers will ask about my birthday, and my parents must report my birthday, and it can only be my lunar birthday. Just like someone asks me about my horoscope now. I was not interested in this thing, but many people asked me, so I had to check it carefully and tell them it was Capricorn.

Anyway, it's a habit to celebrate a lunar birthday or a solar birthday. This is the same as whether the child should take the father's surname or the mother's surname. It can be the same or it can be changed. Just be happy.
