Biyang Tongshan Tongshan Lake

30 kilometers southeast of Biyang County, there is a scenic reservoir-Songjiachang Reservoir. In the early 1990s, Songjiachang Reservoir was renamed Tongshan Lake. Tongshan Lake is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and 18 rivers flow into the reservoir area. It is a famous national water conservancy scenic spot and national forest park, with flowers and trees. Since the early 1980s, a "water monster" has appeared in Tongshan Lake, adding a mysterious color to it.

The "water monster" frequently approaches Tongshan Lake.

The earliest rumor that there is a "water monster" in Tongshan Lake is in 1985. One evening in September this year, the water was calm. Ma Haili, an employee of the Reservoir Fishery Team, was driving a wooden boat with a motorized sailboat across the lake from east to west when he suddenly found a monster lying on a stone beach in the middle of the lake. Three or four meters away from the monster, the boat saw that guy's head was snake-shaped, brown-green, as big as an ox's head and with two short horns. Eyes as big as duck eggs, glowing green. The monster has a flat mouth, a short upper lip and a long lower lip, showing two rows of teeth, and spouting heavy water from the walnut nostrils in a wheezing manner. The monster has rough skin, gray scales the size of copper coins, two claws, and a trunk three or four meters long above the water. After seeing the ship, the "water monster" slowly shrank into the water and swam to the southeast, stirring up waves more than half a meter high and emitting a stench.

The first sighting with an exact date took place on the afternoon of August 9, 1992. Six people, including Li Gang, a policeman from Wugang City, were fishing in Songjiachang Reservoir. /kloc-around 0/8: 30, a huge wave suddenly appeared on the calm water, which gave off a strong fishy smell. Then, a monster's front body appeared in the water. The monster spouted two jets of water from two nostrils, with a neck as thick as a bucket, two claws and forelimbs paddling on the water, and his body was more than 3 meters above the water. After staying on the water for tens of seconds, the monster disappeared into the water.

On August 5th, 1995, Qiu Xinghui, director of Pingyu County Committee Office, accompanied by a leader of Biyang County, led several people to visit Tongshan Lake by motorboat. Qiu Xinghui suddenly found three black floating objects in a straight line in front of the wooden boat. When the ship was 20 meters away from the black spot, I saw three black spots suddenly sinking and the water surface fell into a deep ditch. Two months later, the organization department of Biyang County Committee held a cadre training class in Tongshan Lake. After class, Yang Linhai (now the head of Tongshan Township, Biyang County) and six other students played in the reservoir with a human boat. At the same time, six students found a huge thing a few meters ahead, with its back more than ten meters above the water and two horns on its head. ...

Song Mingde, the former captain of Songjiachang Reservoir Fishery Team, told the author that since 1992, the frequency of "water monsters" has become higher and higher. The time of appearance has also changed from autumn, rain, night and sultry weather to regardless of season and time. In the more than 20 years since 1985 first discovered the "water monster", there have been more than 100 witnesses.

The "water monster" set off layers of waves.

Why does a medium-sized reservoir with less than 40 years of water storage appear such a behemoth? What is a monster? People are talking about it, but they can't agree.

Someone boldly speculated to the author: "This is a crocodile!" Others said, "This is a dragon." But two things are certain. One thing is: Shu Hui, the driver of the Propaganda Department of Biyang County Committee, once told the author that one day in September, 1986, he went home from Zhumadian on business and went to the Songjiachang reservoir area 1 km away, when he suddenly found a large water column rising from the reservoir and soaring into the sky. Shu Hui and three people in the same car got off to watch and found a black snake in the water column. The water column lasted for about two minutes, then suddenly disappeared, and the reservoir was as calm as ever. Another thing: Jin Fengming, director of Songjiachang Reservoir Management Bureau, told the author that since the appearance of the "water monster", fish weighing more than 10 and dozens of kilograms in the reservoir are rare. When fishing with a net, the bottom of the net is often bitten, and a car can pass through the hole.

Since the "Water Monster" appeared in Biyang, many news media such as Farmers Daily, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily, Zhengzhou Evening News and Zhumadian Daily reported it one after another, Henan Business Daily and other media also sent photographers to Tongshan Lake to interview and take photos, and China Academy of Social Sciences and other animal research departments sent letters to try to study it.

Biyang "Water Monster" for 300 Years

Recently, in order to explore the whereabouts of the "water monster" in Biyang, the author consulted the "Biyang County Records" since the eight years of Qing Daoguang, and suddenly found that the "water monster" has appeared in Biyang for more than 300 years.

The earliest record of "water monster" in Biyang County Records was in the fifth year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (AD 1666). The article writes that one day in July 2008, a fighting animal fell from the sky in the southwest of the county, looking like a dragon. The record of Qianlong's fifty-six years is more detailed: there is a Chenjialou at the northern end of Biyang County. One day in summer, a strange wind passed through Chenjialou, and a huge pool appeared in the river in the south of the village. Since then, people have been fishing in this pool. One day, a fisherman named Dong Liu suddenly saw many fish and turtles floating in the pond. Dong Liu called two apprentices to help him catch fish. They dived into the water with fishing tools and met a huge animal in the depths. Dong Liu plunged the harpoon into the scales of the animal, which was too heavy to lift out of the water. Suddenly, the water in the pool churned, and a huge animal jumped out of the pool, bringing a gust of wind and knocking down the house at Chenjialou. It happened that a shepherd boy was herding cattle by the river. When he saw a strong wind coming, he grabbed a big tree in a hurry, which was very dangerous, but his cow was blown away by the strong wind. People who saw it at the scene said that it was dark and foggy, and there were two bowls of thick white gas, long and rolling up and down in the air. (The above records are all taken from Biyang County Records in the eighth year of Qing Daoguang. )

So far, the latest witness of the "water monster" in Biyang County is Yu Shaohan, deputy director of Biyang County Finance Bureau, and Zhao Peijun, the car driver of the county government. The time is 1 1 in the morning of May 2002. At that time, Yu Shaohan and his wife were playing on the east bank of the Water Management Bureau. Suddenly, two black monsters appeared on the water about 50 meters away from the shore, which was more than 10 meters above the water. "The wing scales of the head and tail are ups and downs, which are clearly visible." At this point, we believe that Biyang's "water monster" is not a lie.

From the fifth year of Qing Emperor Kangxi to 2002, 336 spring and autumn periods passed. The Biyang "water monster" that lasted for more than 300 years is puzzling. We sincerely expect scientific research departments and people with lofty ideals to unveil the mystery of the "water monster". (Feng Huayu)
