The old site of Qidong Ancient City is about 2km long from east to west and1.5km long from north to south. In the 18th year of Guangxu (AD 1892), the Yellow River, which was flooded again, washed away more than 300 meters of terraces and dams, and the river moved southward, leaving the ancient city of Qidong with a history of more than 600 years submerged, leaving only a corner in the southeast. In the 20th year of Guangxu (A.D. 1894), he moved to jiuhu. Since then, the ancient city of Qidong has been relocated for many years. 1950, moved to Ma gutang Village, Weiqiao Town, Huimin District. 1952, the city site was moved to Weiqiao Town. 1956, the city site was moved to Tianzhen, replacing gaoqing county. 1September, 1958, Qidong County was partly transferred to zouping county and partly to Boxing County. With the restoration of gaoqing county, Qidong County completely withdrew from the historical territory.

Originally belonging to Qidong County, it was once the resident of Qidong County before liberation. 1958 merged into Wei Qiao district of zouping county, 1968 established the prince commune, 1984 changed its hometown, and 1995 established the town. 1997, with an area of 79.3 square kilometers and a population of 37,000.
