Which district of Chongqing is Ciqikou?

Ciqikou is located at Cinan Street 1, Shapingba District, Chongqing. Ciqikou ancient town, formerly known as Long Yin Town, is a famous historical and cultural street in China, and it is also the "New Bayu Twelve Scenery" in Chongqing and the Bayu Folk Culture Tourism Circle.

Ciqikou ancient town is the epitome of the ancient city of Chongqing, known as "Little Chongqing". Ciqikou ancient town has developed traditional performances such as oil pressing, spinning, sugar making, dough mixing, Sichuan Opera and various traditional snacks, and descriptions are held here every Spring Festival, which is the most distinctive traditional activity.

The earliest name of Ciqikou was Baiyanchang, and there was a Baiyan Temple here during the Xianping period in Song Zhenzong, hence the name.

During the Wen Jian period of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yunwen, the emperor of Wen Jian, was usurped by his fourth uncle Judy. After escaping from the palace, he was cut into a monk. At that time, when he was living in Bayu area, he had been hiding in Baolun Temple on Baiyan Mountain for four or five years. Later generations knew about it, so he changed the temple to Long Yin Temple, and Baiyanchang was renamed Long Yin Town.

During the Qing dynasty, the porcelain industry here was very developed. During the Republic of China, Long Yin Town became a distribution center for agricultural and sideline products in the middle and upper reaches of Jialing River and its tributaries due to convenient water transportation.
