1, mysterious view
Xuanmiao Temple is located in the center of Guanqian Street. Founded in the second year of Xianning in the Western Jin Dynasty (276), it was originally named Zhenqing Daoyuan. During the first year of Yuan Dynasty (1295), it was called the mysterious temple. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang reorganized religion, donated the mysterious temple in Suzhou as a jungle, and set up a Taoist discipline department to manage Taoist affairs in the temple.
2. Eunuch
Eunuch Lane is located on the south side of the middle section of Guanqian Street, which is an inner street of Guanqian Street. The Ming emperor sent eunuchs to Suzhou to supervise the weaving bureau, and there were also a number of small and medium-sized eunuchs as assistants. Most eunuchs live in the alley near the weaving layout. Because the eunuch lived here for a long time, it was named "eunuch lane".
3. Northern Bureau
Located in the south of the middle section of Guanqian Street, Beiju is a rectangular site, commonly known as a small park, named after the Weaving and Dyeing Bureau in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The north is 322 meters long and 14.4 meters wide, and there are six intersections around it that communicate with the outside world. There is North Bureau Lane (Sanxianmiao Lane) in the south, First Gate Lane and Pearl Lane in the east, Orchid Street in the north and Eunuch Lane (formerly Youth Road) in the west, all of which are cement asphalt pavements.
Architectural layout of Guanqian Street
Guanqian Street starts from Linton Road (Vinegar Square Bridge) in the east and Renmin Road (Tea Garden) in the west. The main street is 780 meters long, bordering Pingjiang Road historical and cultural block in the east, Suzhou Park in the south, Suzhou Chenghuang Temple in the west, Suzhou Railway Station and North Temple Tower Hoonji in the north.
Guanqian Street is based on the principle of "Confucianism and Taoism complement each other", with Xuanmiao Temple as the core. At the same time, on the east side of Gongxiang corresponding to Beiju Square, a vendor market is added to cooperate with Xuanmiao Temple Square to form a three-point symmetrical layout.
Among them, the modern commodity area is located on the west side of Renmin Road to Beiju, with Renmin Shopping Mall as the core and other professional shops extending to both sides; The cultural and entertainment area is centered on the North Bureau Square, surrounded by four cinemas and bookstores, and equipped with western food and other service facilities.
