They are friendly to each other, rich in materials, humble to each other, and bow with their hands as a sign of courtesy. This is the life of primitive ancestors, simple and full, and both life and thought are free and natural.
It is this state of life that has gradually formed a set of effective voluntary management policies within the ethnic group. This is a political measure called "benevolence, righteousness and loyalty" by Han Feizi. This seemingly simple political move is actually the "inaction" we have been pursuing. Everything is natural, without too many human factors. Man is a part of nature, and man and nature live in harmony. Recently, a very bad thing happened in Kunming, Yunnan Province, which seriously damaged the ecology along the Dianchi Lake and built villas and golf courses. This evil deed, first, destroyed the ecological environment, ignoring the laws of nature and ecological civilization; Second, violation of laws and regulations, contempt for national laws and ecological construction strategies; Third, it violates the core concept of socialism, abolishes public and private, privatizes social resources and privatizes public interests. It means: eventful autumn is not the route that smart people should take, but they are still using the simple tools of eventful autumn. In the troubled autumn, mankind entered the farming civilization, the country was formed, the population was large, the relative social material was scarce, the concept of hierarchy appeared, and the idea of private ownership prevailed, forming contradictions between people, countries, public and private. In this case, it is obviously unwise to implement the ancient policy again, because it can't solve the problem, but it is complicated.
In the era of frequent and fierce struggles, Han Feizi believes that "in the world of great struggles, it is not the rule of saints to follow the track of concession." It means: in a society of great disputes, it is not the way for saints to govern the country, but still follow the old rules of etiquette and law. The era of great struggle is characterized by disunity and division. Although it was called "Zhou" in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it had no substance. Finally 100 there is only one Qin state when more than one vassal state fights. Only when the country is unified can the world be truly peaceful. Imagine that although Qin is not martial, it is also obedient to humility to other countries. Can we still unify the world? Not to mention unifying the world, it was destroyed as early as the Spring and Autumn Period. In the era of great struggle, what is needed is strength, not flashy etiquette.
Based on the above analysis, Han Feizi believes that "wise men don't pull carts, saints don't push politics." Meaning: So the wise don't walk the ancient unicycle, and the saints don't walk the primitive politics like unicycle. The wise men here are all people who keep pace with the times. The unity of politics and thought is an inevitable requirement for the development of society to the state form. Building the public for the public and governing the country according to law is also an inevitable requirement of the progress of the times to this day. The monarch also wants to praise the ancient political measures of "benevolence, kindness and loyalty", which is not feasible. When chariots and horses become the main means of transportation, do you still want to "push the government with carts"? Obviously out of date, it will be eliminated by society and the times. Han Feizi is still criticizing Confucius' theory of "ruling the country by virtue" here, not that "virtue" is not good, but that "virtue" does not meet the requirements of the times, which not only does not solve social problems, but intensifies social contradictions.
When dealing with many things, smart people should not use the tools of a few things; When there is a great struggle in the world, it is not the rule of saints to follow the track of concession. Therefore, wise men do not pull carts, and saints do not push politics.
Whether it is an eventful autumn or a world of great struggle, keep pace with the times, conform to the requirements of the times, adapt to environmental changes, strive to cultivate and accumulate strength, preserve the country, and pacify the world. This is the rule of saints. Instead of being ignorant of current events, superficial and beautiful. When you get hurt, it will fall apart.
