Chen Siwen's Life Experience

1958 During the Mid-Autumn Festival, Shantou Minle Quyi Troupe was formally established, and Mr. Chen Siwen was recruited as a Quyi actor, responsible for storytelling and cross talk. When it comes to telling stories, Mr Chen Siwen has never really tried it, so he doesn't know. Because a book reviewer can't read while commenting, he must be able to perform without a book. In August, 1959, Wuhan Quyi Troupe of Hubei Province was invited to perform in Shantou Workers' Cultural Palace. This program includes storytelling, cross talk and rap. Shantou Folk Music Troupe sent Mr. Chen Siwen to watch the storytelling program performed by storytelling actors. Mr Chen Siwen observed the facial expressions and hand movements of the storyteller and wrote them down in his mind. In addition to carefully watching and studying under the stage, he also humbly asked people face to face. In order to make his storytelling performance decent, Mr. Chen Siwen bought a mirror specially. By looking in the mirror, he can see his facial expression and the movements of his hands and feet. Through his own practice, Mr. Chen Siwen has mastered some skills of acting and telling stories. Since then, Mr Chen Siwen has been active in Chaoshan storytelling stage. Mr. Chen Siwen's storytelling performance is different. On the basis of a thorough understanding of the original story, he used his own artistic language flexibly and told it in rhyme, which made the audience feel cordial and interesting, full of Chaoshan charm, and made people never tire of hearing it in laughter, with endless aftertaste and entertaining. The first story-telling program performed by Mr. Chen Siwen was the revolutionary story "Outwit Pan Yang", which mainly praised the heroic deeds of the Red Army. After Mr. Chen Siwen's story was broadcast, the audience reacted strongly, thinking that storytelling is a good performance form with great artistic appeal. After listening to the audience's favorable comments, Mr. Chen Siwen was relieved and full of confidence in his future performance.

However, just as Mr. Chen Siwen's acting skills were maturing, the "Cultural Revolution" broke out on May 1966. Because of his family background, Mr. Chen Siwen was removed from the Quyi Troupe as a ghost and sent back to his hometown to farm. After two years of farming in the production team, Mr. Chen Siwen has been thinking about such a question: How much people like to listen to stories! A good story can not only boost morale, but also cultivate sentiment. We should not let the noble art of storytelling be wasted, but let people's lives have more laughter and joy! Based on this idea, Mr. Chen Siwen finally left his hometown and went deep into Chaoshan, telling stories for a living, telling "Water Margin" and "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" for the people. 1978, the relevant departments have implemented the policy for Mr. Chen Siwen, and arranged for him to be an actor in the Quyi Team of Shantou Song and Dance Troupe, and continue to contribute his wisdom to the art of storytelling in Chaoshan. It was not until 198 1 year 65438+February that Mr. Chen Siwen, 62, went through the retirement formalities. However, Mr. Chen Siwen has retired and is still active on the stage of telling stories. He has recorded the classical novels "Water Margin", "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and The Journey to the West on Shantou Radio successively. Modern literary masterpieces include Lin Yuan, Hongyan and Artillery on the Plain. There are also a number of Chaoshan folk stories. Since 1986, Mr. Chen Siwen has successively published tapes and DVDs such as "Chaozhou Laughing Forest" and "Fake Uncle Chen Beike" in Changbai Mountain Audio-visual Publishing House, Guangdong Audio-visual Publishing House and Guangdong Jiaying Audio-visual Publishing House. He also actively participated in the performance and recording of some cross talks and sketches.

Mr. Chen Siwen not only brought laughter to all parts of Chaoshan, but also brought laughter to overseas villagers. 1In the early spring of 990, he went to Bangkok, Thailand for a three-month cultural exchange at the invitation of the Thai Military Family Charity Foundation and the Thai-Chinese Culture and Art Association, and was praised by their inscriptions: "Carry forward culture and art and cherish Sino-Thai friendship!" 1At the end of 1994, Mr. Chen Siwen performed for overseas folks at the invitation of Bayi Club in Chaozhou Port, Singapore, and they praised him for his "exquisite quyi". This is a high evaluation of Chen Siwen's storytelling art.
