Step 2 get married

Marriage is a horoscope, which has been a marriage tradition since ancient times. Write the date of birth and ancestral home of both men and women as Geng posts, and ask the master to measure whether the two words are appropriate. In ancient times, if two people's eight characters matched, then marriage could not be achieved. Of course, free love is advocated now, but the tradition of combining eight characters still exists.

Step 3 date

If the eight characters are suitable, it is the engagement link, which is also commonly known as dating. In addition to preparing bride price money, you need to prepare three wedding money, sugar, noodles and so on. When the man gives a betrothal gift, the woman should prepare a gift in return, send candy to the neighbors and tell them that the happy event is coming.

Step 4 choose a day

After the engagement ceremony, the man will choose several auspicious wedding dates and give them to the woman. The wedding custom in Chaozhou is to greet the bride in the middle of the night, so most of the time is in the evening.

5. Wedding ceremony

The wedding ceremony is the most important link in the wedding process. On this day, the groom will personally go to the woman's house to get married.

6. Go back to your hometown

Going back to your mother's house is what the saying goes. Chaoshan's return ceremony is three times in a row. You can only have lunch at the bride's house for the first two times, you must go home before dinner, and you can spend the night at her house for the third time. I went back to my mother's house three times, and it was over when I came back.

Taboos on Marriage in Chaoshan Area

1, ten thousand faces

On the eve of the bride's wedding, she needs plastic surgery. Pulling a face, also known as "opening a face" and "trimming a face", is very solemn, because this is the first beauty activity in a girl's life, and the person in charge of pulling a face must be "lucky". After the "arm-in-arm" is finished, give the "lucky man" a thank-you gift. Due to the popularity of modern beauty, several techniques such as "face pulling" almost disappeared and became "stunts".

Step 2 take a shower and change clothes

The bride needs to take a shower and change clothes another day. Brides in Chao 'an area should bathe with fairy grass and pomegranate flowers. After taking a shower, she will stand in a bamboo pole prepared in advance, and the "lucky" sent by the man will put on her wedding dress.

In Raoping area, pomegranate flowers and other 12 kinds of flowers and leaves should be placed in the bride's bathtub. After bathing, the bride sat in the basin and ate two boiled eggs, praying for a smooth birth after marriage (like a hen).

When the bride leaves her mother's house, all the extra clothes inside and outside can't be sewn, which means that she won't put away her mother's "luck" and will go to her husband's house to create a new world.

Step 3 sleep on the ground

In the old Chaozhou area, girls could not sleep in bed the night before marriage, but only on the ground. Legend has it that a woman got married in ancient times. Her stepmother didn't treat her like a human being, so she made the bed and let her sleep on the floor
