Cultural materials of Haizhou ancient city in Lianyungang

The Baihushan Temple Fair in Haizhou, which has a history of more than 300 years, is an influential folk cultural activity in southern northern Jiangsu. However, due to the gradual evolution of temple fairs into places selling inferior products in previous years, Haizhou District stopped holding them in 2005. This year, under the strong appeal and suggestion of this newspaper and all walks of life, Haizhou District decided to hold the traditional temple fair again and renamed it "Baihushan Cultural Tourism Temple Fair", which injected new cultural creativity into the traditional temple fair, and will highlight the theme of "visiting the ancient city of Haizhou, watching folk performances, offering selfless love, buying special products, tasting Chinese snacks and soaking Buddhist culture" and create a cultural card of the ancient city of Haizhou.

It is understood that the whole activity will be divided into seven regions according to different contents. Folk performances are concentrated in Bao Li Commercial Street East Square, Gulou Square, Quyangmen Square and Shuanglong Garden. The main contents are five distinctive Gongdiao, Huaihai Opera, Peking Opera, Magic, Acrobatics and Sketches. Well-known singing and dancing performances with ethnic customs in Haizhou local and surrounding areas, as well as abroad. This year, Bi Xia Temple and Bai Zi Temple have increased their Buddhist activities in particular.

On the south side of Bao Li Commercial Street, the temple fair specially arranged a special commodity area, including arts and crafts series, local native products series, cultural relics collection series, packaging design advertising series and so on. In addition, special snacks from all over the country will also gather here. In Shipengshan Scenic Area Square, there will also be an auto show and a housing exhibition.
