Brief introduction of Taoist tea ceremony

Daocha (also called Daocha) has a long history. It is said that tea originated in the Tang Dynasty. It was first made by Taoist priests who were high and low, drawing lessons from folk crafts and adopting Taoist secret recipes. The finished product is only for Taoist priests and monks in Taishan Taoist Temple and monasteries, so it is also called Taishan Taoist Tea. Occasionally, emperors and dignitaries come to Mount Tai to worship Zen and burn incense, and they are lucky enough to taste it when they stay in temples and monasteries, but the outside world is not interested. Its unique craftsmanship was passed down to the ninth generation only by abbots or Taoist priests and monks.

Taoist Zheng Xinhao, the ninth generation descendant of Taishan Daocha, was born in March, 1964. His common name is Zheng Dazhong, Han nationality, born in Tai 'an City, Shandong Province, with a university degree. He is the abbot of Bi Xia Temple in Taishan Mountain and the direct disciple of Zhang Chengda, the 24th generation successor of Quanzhen Dragon Sect. He is currently the chairman of Tai 'an Taishan Scenic Area Daocha Tea Industry Development Co., Ltd. and the chairman of Tai 'an Daoxin Tea Planting Professional Cooperative.

In years of practice, Xinhao not only studied Taoism, but also had a wide range of interests, especially tea culture. With the deepening of Taoism, he became interested in Taishan Daocha, which is full of Taoism, Buddhism and Taishan culture. On the basis of historical documents and oral legends, he traveled all over the Taoist temples, temples and tea planting bases around Mount Tai, sorted out and excavated the secret recipes of Taoist tea lost in the previous generation, especially the sixth generation of Bu Haoran and the seventh generation of Guo, and combined with modern high-tech tea-making methods, he made "three changes and six supplements" to the original tea-making technology and implemented nine items, forming a unique tea-making technology. At the same time, in terms of tea set and tea art, Xinhao also integrated the Taoist theory of five elements, creating a unique set of Taoist modeling and procedures.

Nowadays, Taishan Taoist tea handed down from generation to generation, especially from the ninth generation, has been enriched in many aspects. From the aspects of planting, picking, making, tasting, utensils, tea art, etc., it contains rich Taoist and Buddhist culture and Taishan culture, especially the essence of Taoist culture such as rebirth, precious life, health preservation, natural harmony and harmony between man and nature, especially embodying the unique "Taishan aura". Xinhao adheres to the concept of "conveying Taishan aura and sending happiness to all directions", endows Taishan Daocha with new connotation and spirit, and pushes Taishan Daocha, which was originally "conceived in the inner room and no one knows her", to the society, benefiting thousands of households, further developing Taishan Daocha, creating a new realm of Taishan Daocha and stepping into a new era of Taishan Daocha.
