Why do Thais like walking around the house barefoot?

Thais like barefoot, not only at home, but also in schools and other places, because Thailand is a place where Buddhism is believed.

Influenced by Buddhist ideas, Thais are top-heavy. They think that people's feet walk on the ground all day, stepping on soil and mud, and touching dirty things, so their feet are the dirtiest and don't need to be taken care of.

Now that life in Thailand is good, I no longer walk barefoot when I put on my shoes, and even my shoes have become the dirtiest. Therefore, in order to show respect for the owner, guests must take off their shoes before entering the house, leave the dirtiest shoes outside the house and let the "cheap" feet walk directly on the floor. Similarly, because there are respected teachers in the office, students should take off their shoes when they enter the office. Because there is a noble Buddha statue above the temple, believers should take off their shoes and go barefoot when entering the temple.

Not only that, when visiting some private shops, we saw that some shops had wiped the floor clean. Out of courtesy, we must take off our shoes before going in.
