We followed up more than 10O0 children in nurseries and found that about 30% children had facial blue veins. We have made a long-term observation on children who are prone to repeated colds and children with asthma, and found that the proportion of blue veins at the root of their noses is very high, accounting for about 60%. Among them, the occurrence rate of blue veins in the nasal root of asthmatic children reached 70%.

We examined the immune function of these children and found that the children with veins stood out had obvious immune dysfunction. In the diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine, the appearance of blue veins generally suggests that there is "blood stasis" in the body Sure enough, we found that the platelet aggregation function of "baby with blue veins" (a laboratory test that can reflect blood stasis syndrome) was obviously abnormal. Other tests have also confirmed this. "Baby with blue veins" does have blood stasis.

The blue veins on the face of "baby with blue veins" are "colorful", including horizontal (mostly), vertical, branched, dark blue and light blue. In the process of observation, we didn't find any special attention to the veins stood out in various shapes, but the colors of veins stood out were different: when the disease broke out, the veins stood out in dark blue; The condition improved and the veins stood out turned pale blue; After the disease was cured, most of the veins stood out. This suggests that the advance and retreat of the veins stood out in the roots of the mountain have a certain relationship with the severity of the disease, which can be used as a reference index for the prognosis of respiratory diseases such as asthma.

A large number of observations show that "baby with blue veins" has low immune function, signs of blood stasis and weak constitution. If the blue veins are found at the root of the ear after birth, you should pay attention to prevention even if there are no signs of disease. Because these babies are temporarily protected by antibodies supplied by breast milk, after half a year, when the quality of breast milk declines or the number of breastfeeding times decreases gradually, the chances of these babies getting sick will increase obviously.

These studies on the blue veins of children's roots are still in the primary stage. We believe that with more in-depth long-term observation, laboratory examination and prevention and treatment research, this important means of pediatric examination of traditional Chinese medicine will play a greater role in preventing and treating pediatric diseases and improving children's health.
