From an early age, he was curious about how all kinds of things were made up and how they worked. The human body is undoubtedly the most complicated machine. Neurology needs a lot of brain images. When Chen Qiren was a resident, the technology of magnetic resonance imaging was invented abroad. He remembered that he was shocked when he first saw the magnetic resonance imaging picture, because the image was exactly the same as the actual anatomy, and it was still a living anatomy. During his internship at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, a professor from National Taiwan University Medical College came to help doctors in neurology and radiology regularly, so he attended. Unexpectedly, the more he listened, the more excited he became. He thinks that neuroradiation will be his passion. At the same time, he also saw the prospect of magnetic resonance imaging in the field of medical science and technology, so he applied to the director of National Taiwan University, and joined the radiology department of National Taiwan University Hospital in 1977. At that time, there was no nuclear magnetic resonance machine in China, so Chen Qiren had to buy books to read. It was not until the third year of residency that NTU bought the first high-field NMR instrument in Taiwan. At this time, he can finally put his existing knowledge into practice.

The training of radiology department at NTU is very good. Every morning when the residents have a morning meeting, the attending doctor will throw out a film for the residents to come to the stage for analysis. Chen Qiren recalled that when watching a film, we must guess what the possibilities are, because we don't know what the pathology is, so we should check what the signs are according to the clues on the image, guess the most possible ones, and then make a list for differential diagnosis. Since everyone on stage will last 10 minutes, try to infer. In fact, every senior doctor is polished in this way, so a set of standard thinking logic is trained. Although it may not be right every time, because the logic is reasonable, 100 may be right 90 times, but if you don't follow the logical law and think intuitively, you will only guess right occasionally.

Therefore, clinicians rely more and more on radiology, and doctors hope that images can provide pathological information and even provide directions for treating diseases. On the day of the operation, with the help of an anesthesiologist, it is equivalent to having your own operating room. However, Chen Qiren still holds a positive attitude towards being in the front line, because full participation helps to understand the medical process more comprehensively.

Although Chen Qiren didn't choose surgery at first, he gradually found himself inclined to surgery and liked challenging work. Over the years, he often wondered whether it would be better if he didn't get sick. Hypertension and diabetes are much more serious than whether they are maintained or not. So three years ago, Chen Qiren began to adjust his diet and implement the so-called food tonic regimen.
