Town name, Zhanzhen is located at the junction of three counties in southwest of Pizhou City, with Suining in the south, Tongshan in the west, No.8 Road in the east and Tushan in the north. Pisui Road and Airport Road pass through the territory. The town has a total area of 89 square kilometers and 58,000 mu of cultivated land. Administer 15 administrative villages, 4 orchards and 177 villagers' groups with a total population of 46,000. There are 16 ethnic minorities such as Miao, Zhuang, Gaoshan, Dai and Tujia.

This town is rich in products and fertile land. Crops mainly include wheat, rice, corn, soybeans and sweet potatoes. Cash crops mainly include dried moss, watermelon, cotton, peanuts, fruits and Chinese herbal medicines. The ratio of grain to economy in this town is 4: 6. There are many agricultural characteristics. The east, especially Linghu Village, is rich in dried moss, covering an area of 20,000 mu. In 2000, it was named as the pollution-free demonstration base of dried moss by the Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Department. In the south, Maoshan Village is the center, which is rich in new watermelon varieties Texiaofeng and Baishan brand watermelon, with an area of 1 10,000 mu. Texiaofeng and Baishan watermelons are the leading industries of the rich. Zhancheng Orchard covers an area of more than10.5 million mu and is called the second largest state-owned orchard in Jiangsu Province. There are many kinds of fruits in the orchard, including Red Gala, Red Fuji, Jin Shuai and Marshal. Pears include four-water pears and crisp pears, peaches include safflower peaches, white peaches, peaches and rain dew, and apricots include Kaite apricots and Golden Sun apricots. Another 7 kinds of fruits were rated as pollution-free and high-quality fruits by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Agriculture and Forestry.

Zhancheng has beautiful scenery and many tourist attractions. There are Huangcaoshan Forest Park, Shiwu Temple, Baishan Daquan, Ganzi Han Tomb and the best-preserved former site of educated youth in China. Huangcao Mountain is located 5 kilometers south of the town, with an average elevation of over 69 meters, and Fiona Fang is 2.7 square kilometers. It is a primitive secondary forest with a forest coverage rate of 95%. The highest temperature in summer is only about 25℃, which is praised as "natural oxygen bar" by experts. The former site of educated youth, Qingshiwading, located at the northern foot of Shiwu Temple, was built at 1960, which is the residence of educated youth who went to the countryside. There are 46 houses with an area of 1 hectare, which is the only well-preserved former site of educated youth in China.
