Basic introduction of Ciyun Temple

Ciyun Temple is a famous religious tourist destination in Chongqing.

Located at the foot of Lion Mountain in Tan Xuan Temple, Nan 'an District, near the Yangtze River. On the left side of the temple gate lies a carved green lion, facing white elephant street on the other side of the Yangtze River. It has always been said that the white elephant locks the river. The temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt in the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. It was Kannonji. 1927, Master Yunyan raised funds to expand and renamed Ciyun Temple, which was the only Buddhist temple in China at that time. Ciyun Temple is a unique Buddhist temple in China.

The main buildings in the temple are Daxiong Hall, Pu Xian Hall, Sanmiao Hall, Wei Tuo Hall, Tibetan Scripture Building, Bell and Drum Tower, etc. Jade Buddha, King Kong Mansion, Thousand Buddha Clothes, Tibetan Scriptures and Bodhi Tree of Ciyun Temple are also called the five wonders.

There are 6,362 volumes of precious photocopies of the Song version of the "Sha Xia Da Zang Jing", as well as Buddhist classics, gold embroidered Buddha statues, more than 1,000 Buddhist clothes, ancient finger paintings and calligraphy, and a full set of Buddha statues published in Japan in the early years. There is also a rare bodhi tree in China, which was transplanted from India 60 years ago and is now flourishing. There is a sculpture lotus in the pool under the tree, on which stands the statue of Prince Sakyamuni, surrounded by nine dragons, and the mouth is sprayed with clear water, which is called Prince Jiulong Bath.

The Sakyamuni Buddha enshrined in the center of the Hall of Ursa Major is 187 cm high and weighs 1500 kilograms. It is one of the four jade buddhas in China, and was welcomed by Myanmar in 193 1 year. In front of the Jade Buddha, there are four diamond-shaped buildings with the full text of the Diamond Sutra, which are tied and pasted with five-color gold thread.
