Eight characters for fortune telling

Five elements [1] is the material view of ancient China. Mostly used in philosophy, Chinese medicine and divination. The five elements refer to: gold, wood, water, fire and earth. It is believed that nature is composed of five elements, and with the rise and fall of these five elements, nature changes, which not only affects people's fate, but also makes everything in the universe circulate endlessly. According to the theory of five elements, everything in the universe is composed of the movement and change of five basic substances: wood, fire, earth, gold and water. It emphasizes the whole concept and describes the structural relationship and movement form of things. If Yin and Yang are an ancient theory of unity of opposites, the five elements can be said to be a primitive general system theory.

Five elements and five elements use five characters and symbols to express the relationship between the form of material energy and the law of motion change, among which:

The relationship between the five elements (Ke Wei Shang) describes the relationship between material forms.

Jin Shengmu (the material is easy to understand, and the simple memory method is that hard is better than soft. ), wood wins soil, soil wins water (here soil only refers to soil rather than soil in a broad sense), water wins fire, and fire wins gold (in the words of Tao Te Ching: "The world is the softest and the world is the strongest." Nothing is perfect ")

The coexistence of five elements (transformation occurs at birth) describes the changing law of things.

Aquatic wood, wood fires, fire produces soil, soil produces gold, and gold produces water.

Because of this, we can understand the laws of all things from the yin and yang and the five elements, as the Tao Te Ching says, "Never leave home and know the world; Look at heaven without peeking. It is far away, but it knows very little. 」

[Edit this paragraph] Historical origin

Shang Shu Hong Fan describes the dialogue between Zhou Wuwang and Ji Zi, which says: "Five elements: water, fire, wood, gold and earth. Moisturizing, fire inflammation, straight wood, golden leather, soil fertilizer. Moisten the bottom to make it salty, make it bitter on the inflammation, make it sour on the straight, make it pungent on the leather and make it sweet on the crops. Traditionally, Shang Shu Hong Fan and Shang Shu Shi Gan are works of the Western Zhou Dynasty. Because there are few "five elements" in the works before the Warring States period, the ancient skepticism school thinks that the works with "five elements" before the Warring States period must be forgeries of later generations. This argument is inappropriate. Nie Wentao pointed out that the "five materials" mentioned in Zuo Zhuan is the application or extension of the five elements thought, not the origin of the five elements theory. Zuo Zhuan: "People are born with five talents, which can be used or abandoned", which shows the great influence of the theory of "five elements". "Five Elements" was mentioned in Sun Tzu at the same time of Zuo Zhuan, and it was difficult for skeptics to prove that Sun Tzu was a fake in the late Warring States period. Skeptics in ancient times once assumed that Shangshu was a work of Han Dynasty, but bamboo slips from Guodian Chu Tomb proved that Shangshu was not a fake of Han Dynasty.

To be sure, in the late Warring States period, the idea of five elements winning each other (grams) was put forward, which fixed the order of victory (grams) and fate, formed a mode of contradictory unity between things, and embodied the internal structural relationship and the idea of overall grasp. Because during this period, Neijing applied the theory of five elements to medicine, which played an important role in studying and sorting out a large number of clinical experiences accumulated by the ancients and forming a unique theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine.

"Five Emperors" records: "... Jin Mu has five elements of heaven, fire, water and earth, which are cultivated in time to form everything. Its god is called Five Emperors. 」

So, what are the five elements and how are they interpreted in history?

The word "Five Elements" first appeared in Shi Gan and Hong Fan in Shangshu. In Shi Gan, it means "Hu Shi intimidates the five elements, neglects the three righteousness, and kills life by heaven". In "Hong Fan", it is pointed out that "the gun flood, gurgling five elements of Chen Qi; The emperor was furious, but he didn't kill Hong Fan's nine domains ... Gun died, Yunis flourished, and the sky was the nine domains of Xi Yu Hongfan, and it was a reunion. Five elements: water, fire, wood, gold and earth.

The "five elements" have been clearly defined as water, fire, wood, gold and earth in Hong Fan, and are considered to be the first. In Zhou Youwang, the "five elements" are considered as five matrices that make up everything. There are also "five elements" in Zuozhuan. Here, he is regarded as a "native five elements", which is closely related to the "five materials" and the reproduction of the earth.

The "five elements" are related to the presentation and continuous operation of nature. As for the so-called "behavior", Zheng Xuan noted: "Monkey, you should follow the heaven and conduct qi. The "five elements" mentioned in Shangshu have a certain symbolic meaning-"line". "Behavior" refers to nothing more than a natural "operation", a continuous movement according to a rule inherent in its own presentation, and a natural behavior. Therefore, when there is a flood, the emperor will get angry, because it is against the laws of nature, and fate falls on Yu because Yu guides the situation and controls the water, while the water-based nature is basically mobile, and the water-based nature is blocked and controlled, which will definitely lead to natural anger, which will lead to people's resentment. Therefore, Xia Qi's Crusade is considered as "a Crusade. "If the Rightists don't attack the Rightists, they don't respect ..."

To sum up, we can clearly understand that the "five elements" are material movements; It means the religion of all things. What the ancients said above is actually expressing an idea: if you don't follow the "five elements", you will be rejected by fate like husbands and widows! Although a bit idealistic, it is not unreasonable. Let nature take its course and guide the situation according to the situation, which will be smoother than blindly and recklessly.

Gossip can derive five elements:

Five elements: fire, water and earth in Jin Mu. When it comes to the five elements, some people think they are superstitious. Some people even say that it is five kinds of substances, corresponding to metals, trees, running water, fire and earth in nature. In fact, the five elements are five qi, which are vividly described as five substances. Of course, it makes sense to turn gas into things. It is said to be five things, but we can't steal the column. Five gases are fundamental.

From the beginning, the meaning of "one" is enough for us to study. Many people may not understand it for a long time, and neither do foreigners. It is divided into two parts, which are drawn as "-"and "-"respectively, that is, Yin and Yang are two devices and Yin and Yang are fundamental. Do foreigners understand yin and yang? We in China didn't understand until we said it, and we still have a little knowledge. The ancients in China studied Yin and Yang thoroughly, and it has developed into a theory of Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang alone can explain everything in the world. For example, the seasons corresponding to Yin and Yang are summer and winter. Yin and Yang are divided into four images, the sun, shaoyang, Taiyin and shaoyin, corresponding to 1, 3, 2 and 4. Yang is single and Yin is double. Why? I can't understand it. Sun, shaoyang corresponds to 1 3, and Taiyin corresponds to 2, 4. The sun is 1, the sun is 3, the sun is 2, and the sun is 4, which is also the origin of the 1234 order. The ancients invented the number 1234. The sun corresponds to the sun, and the lunar corresponds to the moon. The sun is pure and firm, and the moon is pure and soft. Shaoyang is wood, the sun is fire, Shaoyin is gold and Taiyin is water, corresponding to four seasons: Chun Mu, summer fire, autumn gold and winter water. The sun in summer is bright, so the sun is the fire in summer, and Chun Mu is the sun. It should be understandable here. It seems simple to divide things into four images of yin and yang now, but this is knowledge more than 3 thousand years ago. It is even more difficult to associate the four images of Yin and Yang with numbers. Even people today may not be able to do it. Is the ancient people's thinking jumping?

Anode and yin, cathode and yang, this should also be understood, and there are many examples to prove it in reality. How did the ancients get it? Is it true that observing nature leads to such a highly generalized and universally applicable principle? The ancients in China were not simple, so we should learn ancient culture with more awe, and don't scold them. In fact, many problems can be solved by the ancients now, but we are ignorant, shallow and ugly. 1 is the beginning of yang and 2 is the beginning of yin, so just now the sun was 1 and the lunar was 2, which is wrong and needs to be corrected. So the beginning of the sun turning cloudy is 2, the corresponding fire is 2, the beginning of the lunar calendar turning yang is 1, and the corresponding water is 1. The ancients thought it was magical here, so the water.

I don't know who put forward this theorem, but we can find many examples to prove it in real life. What about reasoning? The secret of ancient people's great achievements is to draw inferences from others and observe human beings and nature carefully. Now a few people know themselves and nature, live in big cities and get lost in them. They consider themselves part of the city. Think about being born perfect. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that all diseases disappear when qi is harmonious, and all diseases arise when qi is contrary. Circular argument, of course. In spring, summer, autumn and winter, the order of nature is also 1234, and the order of numbers is also in line with the laws of nature, so it is natural to live in harmony, and it is death to violate the laws of nature, so it is very simple to say. So the ancients said: the road is simple. Jin Mu fire and water, spring, summer, autumn and winter are all qi. From spring to summer, from summer to autumn, the flow of qi is also a natural law, which cannot be violated, otherwise it will bring about its own destruction. It should be understandable here. Shun Sheng, from spring to summer, so wood makes a fire, from autumn to winter, so gold makes water, from summer to autumn, is fire making gold? No, from spring to summer, Yang is rising, and from autumn to winter, Yin is falling. We should also understand that the yang dominates the rising and the yin dominates the falling, and nature has also proved this with many examples. Ascension and descent are in line with the theory of yin and yang, that is, yang goes up and yin goes down. By extension, men and women have intercourse, and men are in a natural position. Don't say they don't even understand men and women, and women are wrong to go up and down. Alas, formalism has been committed again. Yin and Yang are two gases, not forms, and the flow of gas is unpredictable. You can only find the trajectory, yin and yang are as simple as that. There are many forms. People who study this knowledge are experts in Yin and Yang and ancient sexual health care. Alas, sexual health care experts appeared as early as one or two thousand years ago, and their knowledge is so rich and all-encompassing, but the quality of China people's sexual life is not the best in the world. Did the ancients abandon us or did we abandon them?

From summer to autumn, because there is an anode and yin, a cathode and yang, and the yin and yang change, it is impossible for fire to produce gold, but there is a hub for intermediate transformation, called earth, and the earth is in the middle, so far the five elements are complete. It can be seen that anode and yin, cathode and yang, do not mean their changes, but there is a process of change, which is easy to understand, because fire is the sun, it becomes the beginning of yin, but later. Therefore, Mr. Huo earth, earth regeneration gold, from Yang to Yin, Yang gives birth to Yin, Yin gives birth to Yin and dies, Yang enters Yin and retreats, and Yang goes against Yin. Therefore, from fire to gold, fire produces soil and soil produces gold, while from water to wood, there is only aquatic wood, and there is no transfer of intermediate soil. Fire turns into gold, thanks to the work of the earth, Yang turns into Yin, and vice versa. Because earth, fire, earth, earth, gold, and yin turn to yang, they were originally consistent, so aquatic wood. This is the principle of coexistence of the five elements, which are the same. See for yourself if these are deceptive. If they are, then all the ancient people in Qian Qian are liars. Why did they cheat? On the basis of these false knowledge, such profound knowledge has been established. The theory of Yin-Yang and Five Elements is only the foundation of China ancient culture, on which skyscrapers were built. Is this skyscraper a castle in the air? Are the ancients really that boring? You shake your head as soon as you say the theory of yin and yang and five elements, so you know nothing about this skyscraper. These are very basic parts of Chinese medicine. The distinction between five elements in TCM, that is, five qi and five qi, is far more complicated and profound than what is said here. After all, it is a science. Here, I just tell you that the five elements are five qi, and to reason about the five elements is to identify the flow trajectory of the five qi.

Then contact the number, soil naturally corresponds to 5, and this number develops into 5, 12345. The five elements are divided into yin and yang. Note that there is yin in yang and yang in yin. Yang Can is divided into Yin and Yang, and Yin can also be divided into Yin and Yang. Therefore, there are ten kinds of wood, wood, fire, fire, gold, gold, water, soil and soil, and the serial number is 1234567890, which is just the serial number. Here, the five elements are divided into yin and yang, which is the unique thinking of China people. Do foreigners have it? To learn the ancient culture of China, we can only learn with the thinking of China people. Is it easier for a native of China or a foreigner who lacks soil moisture in China? In western words, China pays attention to the combination of image thinking, abstract thinking and logical thinking, focusing on image thinking, while the west is the combination of abstract thinking and logical thinking, focusing on abstract thinking. After learning western culture, your thinking ability has improved. 12345 has the connotation of qi, so in order to distinguish it, it is represented by ten qi (Yang wood, Yin wood, Yang fire, Yin fire, Yang gold, Yin water, Yin water, Yang soil and Yin soil), so ten stems are ten qi. China spent so many years dating cadres, not to mention you now. Pay attention to China people's thinking, soil is in the middle. 12345 is yang, 67890 is yin, 12345 is destiny, and 67890 is number. Only when there is a life number can there be a number. 67890 was changed by 12345. 12345 corresponds to fire and water wood gold soil, 67890 also corresponds to fire and water wood gold soil, 12345 is yang, and 67890 is yin, so Jiayangmu 3, Yiyinmu 8, Bingyanghuo 2, Dingyinhuo 7, Gengyangjin 4, Xinyinjin 9, and non-yangshui 1 Why 1234567890 comes from the changes of yin and yang and five elements can be disproved. To identify the flow of ten qi in TCM, add or subtract 1234567890. Doesn't this prove that the ten commonly used numbers 1234567890 represent ten qi? Qi number, Qi number and gasification are external numbers, and the addition and subtraction of numbers is the change of qi, and everything is condensed by gasification (this sentence may not be understood by many people, but it means that everything living on this earth is influenced by Yin and Yang and five elements), which means that everything can be calculated. The tone of China people is really big, but do you believe it? If I tell you the calculation method, do you think it's ok?

For another example, the number can be calculated, 1+ 1=2, which is easy to understand. A picture plus a picture means that two Yang's become the sun, one Yang is 1 and the sun is 2, so 1+ 1=2, 1 is the same. Note that China culture should be studied with China thinking.

Ten stems are ten qi, just forming a circle (spring, summer, autumn and winter are a circle, which is produced by the earth's movement around the sun), but the circle here is not only because the earth is a circle when it rotates around the sun, but because the flow of qi is a smooth line, and it is a circle because it is repeated, because qi is produced in celestial bodies, without the rotation and revolution of the earth, there would be no day and night, no spring, summer, autumn and winter, and no five elements of yin and yang, so it is dry. The origin of stem, and then the origin of earthly branch.

The origin of earthly branches is relatively simple, because yin and yang have produced four images, eight diagrams and sixty-four hexagrams, which can be pushed down. The n power of two hexagrams is equivalent to using binary to calculate everything in the world. Yin and yang are divided into two categories, four images are divided into four categories, eight diagrams are divided into eight categories, and sixty-four hexagrams are divided into sixty-four categories, resulting in infinite division. It is enough for the ancients to divide into sixty-four hexagrams. Because of the appearance of computers, subdivision under 64 hexagrams is not difficult, but it needs the wisdom of the ancients. As a China person, you should know what is Gangua and Kungua, and you should know innate gossip. Dry represents the sky, and Kun represents the ground. There are six changes from doing to doing, namely twelve news hexagrams. The change of 12 is exactly one week, that is, one day or one year, so one day is rotation and the year is revolution. This 12 change was expressed by the ancients, that is, Zi Chou Mao Yinchen failed to apply for the sea at noon, and this 12 change is also a gas 12 change, so 12 land branch is 12 gas. The weather is dry, and the atmosphere changes in a day or a year, so there are only annual branches and monthly branches, which are introduced by annual branches and monthly branches. There is a change of 12 a year, so there is a change of 12 a year, a change of 12 a day and a change of 12 a day, and now it has developed to 24 o'clock. The terrestrial branch of 12 is 10 gas, and the aerial trunk is dominant, so the terrestrial branch of 12 can be converted into the aerial trunk of 10, and the aerial trunk of 10 is the five elements of yin and yang, so the terrestrial branch of 12 is also. In a year, the moon's profit and loss is not exactly 12 times. The moon's profit and loss are recorded on the first day and the second day. In that year, that is, the 24 solar terms, what was the change of qi? Every node is the transformation point of qi, and every node is the beginning of a new moon. The moon here is not the moon, but the corresponding 12. Therefore, knots should be used to distinguish when calculating the change of ground branch gas. 12 earthly branches can also be divided into yin and yang, becoming 24 solar terms. In each solar term, qi is yang in front and yin in the back. It can change constantly, from 24 to 36, 48, 60, 72, and even endless changes. 12 ground air is different from 10 dry air. 10 dry air is a change of yin and yang, which has nothing to do with the earth's rotation, conforms to everything and is universally applicable. The ancients described it as filling between heaven and earth, everywhere. 12 terrestrial branch gas is produced by the earth's rotation and revolution, so it is called terrestrial branch gas, which is related to the earth, position and orientation. 12 earthly branch has orientation, 10 aerial trunk has no orientation. If we know that there are 12 changes every year and 12 changes every day, we must know that the earth rotates. How many people know the date of the stem and branch, and how many people know that the stem and branch represent qi, so we can grasp the movement of qi that we can't see but can't live without by calculating the stem and branch. Learning qigong must know the stems and branches, and learning Chinese medicine must know the stems and branches. And this is the minimum, which is equivalent to primary school only knowing 1234567890.

Chaos begins with the ball and divides into yin and yang, so the qi of heaven and earth is everywhere, and yin and yang are everywhere, like a solid ball, so the sky is round. The six-pointed star 12 can also be circled, but it has a center. Draw a line 12 from the center of the circle, and the circle is equally divided into 12. The earthly branch of 12 represents the orientation of 12, and the circle is the plane of the earth, so the place. Together, the sky is round, and the square means orientation. Do you still laugh at the ancients who thought the earth was square? The ancients called the vast universe composed of many stars "heaven" and the field they lived in "earth", because the sun, the moon and other celestial bodies are moving endlessly, like a closed circle with no starting point and no ending point; But the earth quietly brought us there, just like a square object is static and stable, so the concept of "a round place" came into being. The square here means smooth. In Beijing, most houses are quadrangles, which embodies a kind of "round place", and the square here means safe. And safety is based on the location of the earth branch. The earth branch of 12 represents the orientation of 12, and the earth branch can be transformed into a stem, so the stem also has an orientation. Mudong, Huo Nan, Jinxi, Shuibei and Ganzhi are closely related to divination, so Bagua can accept Ganzhi. Anyone familiar with the Book of Changes knows that gossip can be worked out by accepting cadres and cadres. I wonder how many years ago gossip came into being. Now I don't know how many people are familiar with the Book of Changes, and I don't know how many people play it occasionally. The Book of Changes is also called the head of the group and the source of China culture. After all, the source is the source, which is a bit simple, just like the arithmetic of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in primary school. How can it be compared with calculus in college? The Book of Changes is the basic part and the first book of group classics. He formulated a set of rules, namely, Yin and Yang and Five Elements, heavenly stems and earthly branches's calculus, Yin and Yang and Five Elements, heavenly stems and earthly branches's law of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and the number of gossip. Therefore, depending on the overlapping grouping of Yin-Yang, Five Elements, heavenly stems and earthly branches and Eight Diagrams, the changes are endless, which is actually the flow of qi, which has always been the case. Relying on Yin-Yang and Five Elements, heavenly stems and earthly branches straightened out the changes of Qi.

Five Elements and Taiji

Gold is yin (yang, combining rigidity with softness), and Shui Mu is yang (yin, combining rigidity with softness), which complement each other. Only by combining rigidity with softness can harmony be achieved, and rigidity with softness can complement each other.

Water is yin (yang, softness and rigidity), and wood and fire are yang (yin, rigidity and softness), which can complement each other. Only by combining rigidity and softness can we be harmonious, and rigidity and softness can complement each other.

Wood is yin (yang, combining rigidity with softness), and fire and earth are yang (yin, combining rigidity with softness). Mutual strength and mutual resistance can complement each other, rigidity and flexibility can be harmonious, and rigidity and flexibility can complement each other.

Fire is yin (yang, softness and rigidity), and earth and gold are yang (yin, rigidity and softness), which can complement each other. Only by combining rigidity and softness can harmony be achieved, and rigidity and softness can complement each other.

The soil is yin (yang, combining rigidity with softness) and the golden water is yang (yin, combining rigidity with softness), which can complement each other, combine rigidity with softness, and complement each other.

The five elements occasionally correspond to Confucian benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom and trust, and are indispensable. The ancients were really great! Please seriously think about the five elements of benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom and faith. I believe you will live a very happy life.

[Edit this paragraph] Five elements characteristics

[First perspective]

This view originated from Hong Fan. Today, many people understand it as:

Characteristics of wood: sunrise in the east, similar to wood. The ancients called "wood is straight." "Straight" actually refers to the growth form of trees, which are straight branches that extend upward and around. Therefore, things with growth, rising and smooth functions or characteristics belong to wood.

Characteristics of fire: it is hot in the south, similar to fire. The ancients called "fire is inflammation." "Shang Yan" means that fire has the characteristics of warmth and rising. So what is warm and uplifting belongs to fire.

Soil characteristics: the Central Plains is fertile and similar to soil. The ancients called "soil as a crop", which means that soil has the function of planting and harvesting crops. Therefore, things with biochemical and bearing functions belong to soil. Therefore, there is a saying that "soil carries four lines" and "soil is the mother of all things".

Characteristics of gold; The sun sets, like gold. The ancients called it "Jin called it to follow the reform." "Reform" means "change". Everything that has cleanliness, depression and astringency belongs to gold.

Characteristics of water: it is cold in the north, similar to water. The ancients called "water moistens the bottom." It means that the water is wet and downward. Everything that is cold, moist and flowing downwards belongs to water.

[second view]

This view originates from the annotation of contemporary scholar Nie Dui.

The nature of the five elements should be considered from three aspects: "calming qi", "not being as good as" and "passing". Gas is flat, wood says it is flat, fire says it is rising, soil says it is prepared, gold says it is flat, and water says it is flat and stable; Let's say: wood says Yue Wei and peace, fire says prosperity, earth says humble prison, gold says separation, and water says dry flow. Too much: wood said it happened, fire said it was sunrise, soil said it was mound, gold said it was solid, and water said it was flowing. Considering these three aspects, we can understand the understanding of life self-maintenance in Chinese medicine thinking. Different understanding of human ability is the difference between Chinese and western medicine.

In the history of China's philosophy, the five elements thought category: "The above has analyzed the various meanings of the five elements. For the sake of clarity, these meanings are listed as follows:

(1) refers to the five principles of behavior, which are suspected to be held by Xunzi.

(2) It refers to five physical properties such as Shangshu Hongfan and Zhou Zi's Taiji Illustration.

(3) refers to the five essential material conditions of life, such as those held by Cai Mo in Zuo Zhuan.

(4) Five classification principles in taxonomy, such as Lv Chunqiu.

(5) It refers to five "existing forms" that exist through the flow of Yin and Yang, such as Baihutong and Huangdi Neijing Suwen.

(6) refers to wood (plants), fire, earth, gold and running water. Their symbolic meanings are vitality, activity or change, gestation or cultivation, prohibition and concealment. Xiao Ji took this.

The five elements express the relationship between yin and yang. The interdependence of the five elements in life expresses the interdependent and inseparable relationship between Yin and Yang. The mutual restriction between the five elements expresses the inherent stipulation of life movement; The movement and transformation of the five elements express the ups and downs of the constant power change between Yin and Yang. The five elements cannot exist independently, but live and die together, expressing the parallel relationship between yin and yang. This important relationship between yin and yang is not understandable by the five material relations. What the five elements describe is an inseparable whole relationship, which is a mutually supportive, mutually restrictive and ever-changing relationship in life, rather than the relationship between five independent individuals.

Water, fire and soil in Jin Mu lack strict mutual support and can exist independently. In the theory of five elements, no line can exist without the other four lines. So it is far-fetched to say that the five elements are five substances.

The theory of five elements is used to explain the changes of everything in the world. Therefore, TCM always understands the five elements through endless operation. The relationship between Yin and Yang in TCM is expressed by five elements (wood, fire, earth, gold and water). Yin-yang and five elements describe the forces that must exist in the life system to support and restrict each other, thus forming a special view of life. The theory of five elements describes life as a living, constantly moving and developing life that can maintain its own balance, but this function cannot be completed by the theory that the five elements are regarded as five substances.

In the Five Elements Theory, the south belongs to fire, the east belongs to wood, the north belongs to water, and the west belongs to gold and earth, which helps Jin Mu to balance fire and water.

Since 1950s, Chinese mainland's understanding of ancient philosophy of Yin and Yang has been almost unified, which lies in that the theory of Yin and Yang conforms to the theory of contradiction of materialist dialectics. The related understanding is that the theory of five elements is ancient simple materialism, and the basis of this statement is to understand the five elements in Shangshu Hongfan as five substances. In recent years, some changes have taken place in this situation, which shows that many scholars try to get rid of the unified philosophical model of dialectical materialism and re-understand ancient philosophical thoughts. In fact, when we leave dialectical materialism and return to the philosophical level before Qin and Han dynasties, the philosophy of Yin and Yang will show its original content. As early as 1960s, Taiwan Province scholar Xu noticed that "Yin-Yang and Five Elements" were often used in pre-Qin literature, but they were often mentioned without the five elements, indicating that the five elements were attached to Yin-Yang. Regrettably, Xu's investigation of the theory of Yin-Yang and Five Elements did not pay attention to the existence of Chinese medicine, nor did he mention the relevant exposition in Huangdi Neijing. Therefore, there is no further discussion on how Yin and Theory control the Five Elements Theory. In fact, yin, yang, wood, fire, earth, gold and water are abstract concepts in the original system, in which wood, fire, earth, gold and water do not refer to tangible substances.

First of all, it is obvious from the overall function of the five elements that the relationship between any two lines is not one-way, but mutual. Any one of the five elements has four relationships: giving birth to me, giving birth to me, restraining me and restraining me, so the normal relationship of "restraining" can be guaranteed.

That is to say, wood can kill soil, soil can produce gold, and gold can kill wood, thus making wood immortal, so it can nourish fire and make it biochemical normally.

There is a connection law between the five elements, that is, mutual education, mutual promotion and mutual encouragement; The so-called mutual restraint means mutual restraint, overcoming and restraint. Ke Sheng is the basic viewpoint used by the Five Elements Theory to summarize and explain the connection, development and change of things.

The five-element rule is that wood makes a fire, fire produces soil, soil produces gold, and gold produces water, aquatic wood; The rules of mutual respect are: Mutuko, Tukeshui, Shuihuoke, Huojinke and Jin Kemu. The relationship is as follows:

In the symbiotic relationship, any line has the relationship between "giving birth to me" and "giving birth to me". Those who give birth to me are mothers, and those who give birth to me are children. Therefore, symbiotic relationship is also called "mother-child relationship"

In the relationship of mutual respect, any line has two aspects: "I can resist" and "I can resist", and the resistance is "I win" and "I can't win". Therefore, the relationship of mutual respect is also called "winning" and "invincible".

The relationship between the five aspects of the internal system structure of things constitutes the circular movement of things under normal circumstances, so it is often in the process of movement development and is unbalanced. But as far as the five elements are concerned, whether they are mutual growth or mutual resistance, they show relative dynamic balance in harmony. And each of the five elements is born from another line, and is born from another line; Not only can it be rejected by others, but it also presents a dynamic balance of power as a whole. It can be seen that the balance achieved by the five elements is not absolute static, but dynamic balance based on movement.

(3) the control and victory of the five elements

The reason why the structure of the five elements system can maintain dynamic balance and circular movement mainly lies in its objective existence of two self-regulating mechanisms and ways. One is the "customized" adjustment under normal circumstances; One is the adjustment of "victory and recovery" under abnormal circumstances.

System, that is, restriction. Chemical, biochemical. The so-called control mainly refers to the adjustment of the structure of the five elements system through the interaction of mutual generation and interaction under normal conditions, also known as "five elements control".

First of all, it is obvious from the overall function of the five elements that the relationship between any two lines is not one-way, but mutual. Any one of the five elements has four relationships: giving birth to me, giving birth to me, restraining me and restraining me, so the normal relationship of "restraining" can be guaranteed.

Fire can kill gold, gold can produce water, and water can kill fire, so fire can last forever, so it can nourish the soil and make it biochemical normally.

Soil can overcome water, water can produce wood, and wood can overcome soil, so soil can last forever, so it can nourish gold and make it biochemical.

Gold can kill wood, wood can make a fire, and fire can kill gold, so that gold can live forever, so it can nourish water and make it biochemical normally.

Water can overcome fire, fire can produce soil, and soil can overcome water, so water can last forever, so it can nourish wood and make it biochemical normally.

It can be seen that it is this restriction of opposites and complementarities that regulates and maintains the relative coordination and balance of the structure of things.
