What time does the Lama Temple open?
The Lama Temple is a temple with a long history in the northeast corner of Beijing. It was built in the thirty-third year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty. It was originally the residence of Emperor Kangxi and later became the palace of Yong Zhengdi. Because of the birth of Emperor Qianlong, the Lama Temple was given a special status as a blessed land in front of the dragon. Its specifications are the same as those of the Forbidden City. The green glazed tiles in the main hall were changed to yellow because of Yong Zhengdi's death. Since the ninth year of Qianlong, the Lama Temple was changed to the Lama Temple, which became the center of Tibetan Buddhist affairs of the Qing government throughout the country and was one of the highest-standard Buddhist temples in the country at that time. It is composed of three exquisite archways and five magnificent halls. The arched eaves and antique archways show unique architectural style. The Lama Temple covers an area of 66,400 square meters and has more than 1,000 temples. It is a large-scale and well-preserved ancient architectural complex.
