Does Buddhism look at "eight characters"

Sakyamuni Buddha once made it clear that things like fortune telling are bad luck.

Hua Yan Jing (Volume 35): "The Bodhisattva lives in the right path, does not predict, does not take evil precepts, sees that his heart is upright, does not flatter, and believes in Buddhism and monks."

The Paramita Paramita Sutra (Volume 40 1-600) (Volume 5 15 < 20 Irreversible >: "Repeat, be kind! All bodhisattvas who don't turn back will achieve supreme bodhi, stay away from the great bodhicitta, practice a clean life, curse evil things such as magic, medicine and divination, curse ghosts and gods for fame and fortune, make men and women ask them bad luck, forbid men and women, size, neighbors, ghosts and other things, occupy the length of life, financial position, all good and evil things of men and women, and don't remember the cold and summer. I don't respect offering sacrifices to ghosts and gods, so I say I am often a staff sergeant, not a corporal. So what? It is the Bodhisattva Mahasa, who knows that all dharmas are empty, empty and without phase, without cause or cause, away from all kinds of evil life, spells, medicine and occupation, and only seek supreme justice and bodhi, and always forgive all sentient beings. If this is the achievement of the Bodhisattva, I know that I will not turn back to the Bodhisattva. " (CBETA, T07, No.220, page 632, a2- 18)
