Guanghua is neither a town nor an urban area of Qianjiang, but an area of Jianghan Oilfield of Sinopec where Jianghan Oilfield is headquartered.

Guanghua, a bright pearl on Jianghan Plain, is located in the west of Qianjiang City, in the center of the Golden Triangle of the Yangtze River Economic Belt led by Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is bordered by Yihuyu Expressway and National Highway 3 18 in the south, Xiangyue Highway (S2 19) runs through the whole territory in the west, and Hanjiang Hongqi Wharf in the north can directly reach the Yangtze River.

Guanghua is rich in mineral resources and is known as "Jianghan Oil City". Jianghan Oilfield, with Guanghua as the center, is rich in underground resources, with proven oil-bearing area 160.3 square kilometers, proven oil-bearing geological reserves 1 172 10000 tons and oil production of 69.068 million tons. The proven gas-bearing area is 98.67 square kilometers, and the proven natural gas reserves are 5.055 billion cubic meters.
