After the imperial edict was issued, both the mountain owner and the cultivator tried their best. There is a man named Pan Yinggu in Panyun Village. He likes singing. The plowman listened to her song, as if he had melted a piece of honey in his mouth; She sang to the mountain spring, and the mountain spring stopped flowing; She sang to the mountain forest, and the birds were too ashamed to speak. Pan Yinggu's singing stopped and the birds refused to leave for a long time. The farmer thought: Pan Yinggu must have a way to catch the bird. So, all the men and women in Pan Yun Village came to Yinggu's Mulou to learn singing from her, and discussed spreading this song to the farmers in Jiujiu Village, and agreed to divert the birds from Jiujiu on the last day of the first month of next year before sowing, and arrived at Baitou Mountain without spring seeds. In Panyun village, there is a mountaineer named Pan Adu who keeps a pair of thrushes. Every morning, he hangs the birdcage on the beam of a wooden building and lets the thrush sing. Strange to say, some tits are also attracted. They stop at Zhaitou every day and spend the night on the eaves of the building. The mountain owner was very happy: "Haha, Jiujialing is in my name again." So he quickly mended the book and reported it to the emperor. The emperor drew a little brushwork and ordered the shanzhai to raise more thrushes in the mountains. One day at the end of the month, birds from the 939 Ridge were lured to Shiyan Ridge in Baitou Mountain.

On this day, there are many people and birds on Baitou Mountain. On sunny days, birds fly in rows to block the sunshine for the singer; On rainy days, birds fly in droves to shelter the singer from the wind and rain. The cultivators sang from morning till dusk, and the birds really forgot to fly back to the mountains. When I was tired, I fell on the rock and people quietly left. The next day, the birds flew to the clouds in search of songs. They flew around Baitou Mountain, as if there were endless songs on the top. The man's name is Broci and the woman's name is Milo. They are the first industrious and intelligent parents who created the universe. After they created the world, they let their three daughters go out to make a living. The eldest daughter went to the plain with a plow and rake and became the Han nationality now; The second daughter chose a car full of books to study and became the Zhuang nationality now; The third daughter took a bucket of corn and a gong given to her by Miroto and went up the mountain to open up wasteland for farming. From then on, the third daughter lived and worked in peace and contentment in the mountains and became the Yao nationality now. Because in less than seven days and seven nights, she still has a lot of hair on her head and calves, and then she wraps her head and calves with cloth. When Tiger Pan became an adult, King Ping sent him to Kuaiji Mountain to be king, which was called Pan Wang in history. Wang Pan married Yincui gorge and gave birth to six men and six women. Wang Ping gave each one a surname, which became the earliest twelve surnames of Yao people. Although Tiger Pan is king, he still lives a simple life, teaching his children to hunt and make a living. Once, King Pan and his six sons went hunting in the mountains and chased an injured goat. Unfortunately, they were injured by horns and fell off the cliff and died. The body was hung on a tree, and the children cut down the tree to make drums, peeled off the sheepskin and covered it to make long drums. They carry drums on their backs, beating and crying and singing in memory of King Pan. Up to now, Yao compatriots still keep the habit of not eating dog meat, and sacrifice is also an important part of the festival.

The legend of wrapping the head of Yao nationality

Legend has it that a long time ago, Wang Ping was in charge of the world in Beijing, and the world was peaceful. There is a big dog with spotted fur in the palace, named Dragon Dog, and Ping Wang loves it very much. Later, a purple jade who was far away from overseas rebelled against the world and sent troops to judge the king from time to time. The war has been going on for many years, but the purple king can't be defeated. King Ping posted a placard announcing to the world that whoever can beat the Purple King will not only get an official reward, but also get his most beautiful third daughter. None of the ministers and officials of the Qing Dynasty dared to expose the list.

One day, when Dragon Dog saw the placard, he jumped up, opened the placard and went to the temple to see King Ping with his mouth in his mouth. When Wang Ping saw the announcement, he asked, "Are you capable of beating the Purple King?" Dragon dog nodded several times. Wang Ping was pleasantly surprised, so he gave a sumptuous banquet to bid farewell to Dragon and Dog. After eating Wang Ping's banquet, Dragon Dog set off immediately, like flying clouds. After seven days and seven nights, I swam across the vast sea and finally arrived in the country of the purple king, all the way to the golden palace. The purple king sat in the court. When he saw the dragon dog, he was very happy to know that it was Wang's pet dog. He said to the ministers, "Look, all the dragons and dogs raised by King Ping have fled to our country. It can be seen that Ping Wang has lost the hearts of the people at home, and victory is not far away for us. " Since then, Yu Zi has always left the dragon and the dog in the palace, and was inseparable from him.

One day, the purple king went to the toilet, and the dragon and dog took advantage of it and pounced on it. They immediately bit off the purple Lord's head and flew back to China to appear before the king. The king summoned his ministers to identify the head. When I learned that this was indeed the head of the Purple King, commenting on Wang Daxi was like taking away a heart disease, so I held a big banquet and rewarded the dragon and dog with a lot of gold and silver. But the dragon and the dog don't look at these treasures and want to marry the princess. Commentator Wang knew what he meant, but he was embarrassed: How could the princess marry a dog? So I had the idea of a broken marriage, and I was depressed all day. Knowing this, the clever princess sincerely advised her father, "You should act according to the previous announcement and don't break your word. Breaking faith will be a joke in the world and is not good for the country. " And expressed his willingness to marry the dragon dog. Wang Ping accepted the princess's suggestion and personally arranged the marriage between the princess and the dragon dog.

After marriage, the husband and wife have always been very loving and affectionate, and everyone feels strange. The queen told the king about it, and the king said, "Can dragons and dogs become people? Great! I made him king in Nanjing. Dragon dog told the princess to steam him in a steamer for seven days and seven nights, and then he could shed his hair and become a man. The princess did as the dragon dog said. But after steaming for six days and six nights, the princess couldn't help but worry. She was afraid of steaming her husband to death, so she opened the lid. Ah! I see that Dragon Dog has become a handsome and mighty young man. According to legend, this young man is the primitive ancestor of Yao nationality. However, due to insufficient steaming time, the hair on the head, armpit and foot embryo has not been taken off. But the lid has been opened, so we can't steam it any more, so we have to wrap the hair and shin with cloth. As a result, the Yao people have used cloth buns for generations, which has been passed down to this day. After Dragon Dog became a man, Wang Ping kept his promise and made him king of Pan Hu. The princess's dowry also contains many gold, silver, jewels, silks and satins.

Legend of Yao Niu's birthday

There is a legend in the Yao family: "Pangu opened the sky, Lu Ban built a wall, the king of grain delivered food, and the king of cattle plowed the fields." Yao's ancient books "Pan Tian Da Ge" and "Bang" said: "In the two years of the great flood, everything in the world was flooded, leaving only Fuxi brothers and sisters hiding in the gourd floating on the water. Only in this way can mankind continue. Later, Pan Wang went to the temple and gave all the mountains in the world to the Yao people to cut seeds and live and work in peace. However, in Yaoshan area, entering the barren land is still in jeopardy despite people's hard work. One year, Taibai Venus went down the mountain to visit the people's feelings, and saw that the Yao family lived in the mountains from generation to generation, slash and burn, and life was difficult, so he told heaven. The Jade Emperor sent the king of grain down to earth, and the king of cattle down to earth to plow the fields. Since King Niu came to the world, the Yao family began to farm and grow crops, and the weather was favorable every year and the crops were bumper. In order to thank Niu Wang, the Yao family took the day when Niu Wang came down to earth (the eighth day of the fourth lunar month) as the traditional festival of Niu Wang's birthday.

Yao's family has a folk song, "On April 8th, we lost our plough. On July 30th, we went to Man Cang Valley to restore 10,000 tons of grain. With all the help, Niu." On the eighth day of April, Yao's family loved cows so much that they would leave their harrows and plows to rest all day. On this day, no one is allowed to whip, beat, kill or even scold cattle. On the first day, every household should give the cow a hot bath, brush the whole body clean, tidy up the cowshed, spread new grass, paint it with red paper or cut it into Buddha's name and stick it on the cowshed to ward off evil spirits and rob the sick, and protect the health of the cow. On this day, the food eaten by cattle is even more unique and wonderful. In the early morning, people rushed to let the cows go out to eat bare water plants. The sooner the better, "scratch your head". Boil eggs with glutinous rice distiller's grains for cows in the morning. In the Yao family, children have the habit of eating eggs on their birthdays, which shows the worship of cattle. There is a saying in worship: "People live and eat ginseng; Cattle live much more and eat Sophora flavescens. "In the afternoon, use Sophora flavescens to cook loach and feed it to the cows, so that the cows can live a long and healthy life.
