Why don't good people live long and bad people live for thousands of years?

The law of cause and effect in Buddhism is that good is rewarded with good, and evil with evil. It's not that we don't report it, but that it's not time. Friends, do more good deeds.

My personal experience of learning Buddhism: in our world, there is a great kindness that we can easily ignore, and that is filial piety to our parents. The hardest thing about filial piety is "color difficulty", that is, it is difficult to be kind to parents. Think back, friend, don't you? So be gentle with your parents, speak softly, not violently.
