What works are prohibited from publication and dissemination according to law?

According to Article 20 of the Regulations on the Administration of Publishing, no unit or individual may issue the following publications:

(1) Prohibited publications containing prohibited contents in the Regulations on the Administration of Publishing;

(2) All kinds of illegal publications, including: publications that are published, printed or copied without approval, publications published by forged or counterfeit publishing units or newspapers, and illegally imported publications;

(3) Publications that infringe the copyright or exclusive publishing right of others;

(4) publications whose publication, printing or reproduction and distribution are explicitly prohibited by the administrative department of publication.

Article 25 A publication shall not contain the following contents:

(1) Opposing the basic principles set by the Constitution;

(2) endangering national unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity;

(3) divulging state secrets, endangering state security or damaging state honor and interests;

(4) Inciting national hatred and discrimination, undermining national unity and infringing on national customs and habits;

(5) propagating cults and superstitions;

(6) Disrupting social order and undermining social stability;

(7) Propagandizing obscenity, gambling, violence or abetting crimes;

(8) Insulting or slandering others and infringing upon their legitimate rights and interests;

(nine) endangering social morality or national excellent cultural traditions;

(ten) there are other contents prohibited by laws, administrative regulations and state regulations.

Twenty-sixth publications for minors shall not contain contents that induce minors to imitate behaviors that violate social morality and illegal and criminal acts, and shall not contain contents that endanger minors' physical and mental health such as terror and cruelty.

Article 27 If the contents of a publication are untrue and unfair, and infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, legal persons or other organizations, its publishing unit shall publicly correct it, eliminate the influence, and bear other civil liabilities according to law.
