Introduction of Yongning Temple

Yongning Temple, one of the eight ancient temples in Xuzhou, is located in Fengxian County, the hometown of Han Dynasty. According to legend, Emperor Hanming established Yongning Temple in Zhongyang, the ancestral home of Liu Bang in the Han Dynasty, in order to protect the country. According to the legend in Fengxian area, Baima Temple in Luoyang and Yongning Temple in Fengxian County were established at the same time, both of which were built by Liu Zhuang, the Emperor of the Han Dynasty. The official name of Baima Temple in Luoyang should be Yongning Temple, and Baima is also commonly known. There is more than one temple in China called Yongning Temple. The famous Yongning Temple was built by Hu Taihou in the first year of Xiping in the last years of Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 5 16). There are Yongning Temple in Yancheng, Jiangsu, Yongning Temple in Luoyang, Henan, Yongning Temple in Lan Shu, Jilin and Yongning Temple in Ningdu, Jiangxi. Yongning Temple is a national 2A-level scenic spot.
