Yufeng Guan aerial photography: Smoky Cave, Zifu and Xiandu

At the foot of Guangwu Mountain in Xia Yan Town, Liquan County, Xianyang City, between Upper han cun and Lower han cun, there is an ancient jade peak landscape. On March 13, 2020, when my family and I passed by, we happened to see this Yufeng scenery, so we operated our own drone to take an aerial photo of it.

Yufeng Temple is located on the high ground next to the village. Seen from a distance, it is magnificent. At first I thought it was a contemporary temple; But when I saw the publicity column in front of the door, I realized that it was built during the Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties, and it was known as "the misty sky" and "the fairy capital of Zifu".

It is adjacent to the towering Jiuzhang Mountain in the west, the canal head of Jinghe Qin Zheng in the east, Guangwu Mountain in the north and Zhong Nanshan in the south. During the epidemic, the gate of Yufeng Temple was locked and no one could be seen around. The drone rose from the square in front of the gate and flew around Yufeng twice. The rolling peaks in the distance and the buildings with red walls and green tiles nearby are unobstructed.

Yufeng Temple, formerly known as Yuxian Temple, was built to commemorate the immortal Wang Ziqiao. Tang Xizong was given a seal in the first year of Ganfu (874), so it was commonly known as "Jade Seal View", and was later misrepresented as "Jade Peak View". According to the inscription, in the sixth year of Jin Dading (1 166), under the auspices of Taoist Zhang Zhiyou, the Jade Peak View was rebuilt. According to legend, a jade statue of Wang Ziqiao, who built a house, is enshrined in the temple.

Before the Cultural Revolution, there were eight stone tablets, four pairs of stone lions and twelve pairs of stone sheep in the Yuan Dynasty. The layout of the Taoist temple is square, with a circular wall outside, symbolizing "the sky is round"; There are towering old trees in the view, with Jade Emperor Hall in the middle, Ancestors Hall and Notre Dame Hall on both sides, followed by Sanqing Hall and Doulao Hall. East courtyard has Salvation Hall, Leigong Hall and Taibai Hall; There are Wenchang Pavilion and Juxian Pavilion in the West Campus.

Unfortunately, these buildings were destroyed from 1968 to 1976. Bricks, wood and stones are transported to Zhaozhen, Liquan County, and used to build the walls, factories and houses of Zhaozhen Iron and Steel Plant and Cotton Flour Plant. Other relics are scattered among the people, and the jade peak view is completely deserted.

This is a prosperous time, and the government is harmonious. Wang Jiazhe, a disciple of the twenty-first generation of Taoist Quanzhen Huashan School, reconstructed this view with compassion. Construction started in August of 20 14 and was basically completed in June of 20 18. Although the main hall here reappears, the scale is still less than a quarter of the previous one.
