Huang Qishan is famous for two things. One is that it is the first of the eight scenic spots in Dongguan. The first sentence of Dongguan folk songs is "Lanterns are hung on Huangqi Mountain", so everyone looks up at the top of the mountain, where there is a giant lantern, which can be seen anywhere in Dongguan city at night. You may ask, "How can there be such a scene of hanging lanterns on the top of the mountain?" That's because it is said that in the past, there was a thousand-year-old banyan tree on the top of this yellow flag hill, which was often the residence of four Zhou Ying fire bugs. At night, it looks like a lantern from a distance, and the wonders are spread far and near, so it becomes the first of the eight scenic spots in Dongguan. The second famous place of this Huang Qishan is its strong incense, which makes it difficult to be enemies far and near. On the first and fifteenth day of the first lunar month, many old people and women in Dongguan come to burn incense in droves, and festivals such as Guanyin's birthday are even more crowded. If it's Chinese New Year, it's just a traffic jam, and the incense smoke has trapped half the mountain. Why does it smell so good here? It is said that Guanyin once appeared here. Later, purple clouds often appeared over the temple. It is also said that the good weather in Dongguan, no major natural disasters, no fierce war damage, all because of this peaceful and precious place. Of course, these are legendary sayings, but this is a good place to learn about Dongguan folk customs. Huang Qishan has a very high historical position in ancient times, and once had the reputation of being the first famous mountain in Lingnan. This is mainly because land transportation was difficult in the past, and most people came to Guangdong by water and entered from the Pearl River Estuary. Of course, Dongguan is the first stop, and Huang Qishan is the highest mountain near Dongguan, which has certainly become the only place for literati. There is also a famous scenic spot in Huang Qishan, which is Li Anquan. It is said that just a sip of water from the lotus spring can make people clean. Historically, it was once an elegant gathering place for poets, leaving many wonderful poems, adding rich content to Dongguan's cultural treasure house.
