Wudang is also a secluded place for immortals of past dynasties, such as Lv Dongbin, Chen Tuan, Zhang Shouqing and Zhang Sanfeng. The sects circulating in Wudang are Shangqing Maoshan Sect, and Sun, a Taoist priest who lived in Wudang for eleven years in Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty, taught Shangqing Classics, opened the veins of Wudang Wulong Sect and dredged the micro-roads. At the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, Taoist Zhang Daogui and others learned from Huang Shunshen and started Wudang Wei Qing School. In the early Ming Dynasty, Qiu Xuanqing, a full-fledged Longmen Taoist, entered Wudang and was influenced by Mr. Sanfeng.
Although the orthodox school and Quanzhen school spread in Wudang have been handed down, they all serve the Zhenwu Emperor, thus forming a distinctive Wudang Taoism. The General Theory of Zhu Zhen Schools collected by Baiyunguan includes Taoism schools related to Wudang Taoism, including Zhenwu Xuanwu Gate, Langmei Gate and Sanfeng Gate handed down by Mr. Sanfeng. Today, there are Dragon Sect, Wudang Xuanwu Sect and Justice Wei Qing Sect circulating in Wudang.
