Everyone who can wear linen is surnamed Li. Born in the Northern Song Dynasty, Nanyang, Henan. As Chen Tuan's teacher, he was a monk in the Song Dynasty, and a legendary figure of sage like type. He is not only proficient in physiognomy, but also good at learning and skills, and integrating them into one furnace. "Sou Shen Ji" said: "People who wear hemp clothes often wear hemp braids. Although the crown area is dirty, it has a childlike face and bright eyes." Chen Tuan and Taoist Mayi practiced in the shrine (now Anyue County, Sichuan Province) and later talked about Taoism in Huashan. They have the same ideas and deep feelings. Chen Tuan respected Ma Yi's Daoism very much and praised him for "moral Alex Gao, learning from heaven, and as for future generations, there are lessons from gods." He is the author of Ma Xiang, Huo, and a volume of Ma Yixin Fa handed down by disciple Chen Tuan in the form of annotations, among which Ma Xiang is the most classic. The Portrait of Ma Shenyi is the earliest existing physiognomy book in China that systematically describes people's appearance.
