What is the cultural background of Xiangzhou?

Xiangzhou Shigong Dance and Wang Gan Sacrifice are listed in the autonomous region's intangible cultural heritage protection list.

Xiangzhou Shigong Dance is a folk sacrificial dance of Meishan School of Zhuang nationality popular in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Shigong dance has a long history, rich dance vocabulary and strong national characteristics. In 2008, it was officially declared as an intangible cultural heritage of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Gan Wang, the most widely deified figure in Xiangzhou, Guangxi, was honored as "Gan Wang" by the people, and a temple was built for him, which was widely worshipped, forming a unique religious belief of the Zhuang people in Xiangzhou. Sacrificing Gan Wang was a ceremony to pay homage to Gan Wang.
