Fortune-telling in Pingyi Dazhong Village

A Brief Introduction of Zhong You (Luz) on Zhongzi Road

Every time I read The Analects of Confucius, I find that one of Confucius' disciples, though unable to stand side by side with Confucius, still surpassed the tribute of Confucius' favorite disciple Yan Hui and the son of a super businessman and diplomat by virtue of his unique and lovely personality and teacher-friend relationship, and became the most eye-catching one among the stars guarding Confucius' "North Star". He is my ancestor Zhong Zilu.

Born in 542 BC, he was born in Lubian (now Zhongcun Town, Pingyi County, Shandong Province). Confucius was nine years old, and his name was Zhong You, a hippo chef named Lu or Lu Ji. In the Analects of Confucius, Luz or his words and deeds were mentioned forty times.

Luz was born in poverty. In Shuo Yuan, he said that he often eats quinoa. However, he is a dutiful son. The first of "Twenty-four Filial Pieties" is the story of Lutz's childhood. After he became a big official, he was still thinking about his dead parents when he was prosperous. Even his teacher Confucius praised him: he tried his best to make things happen, and he thought of everything when he died.

Lutz was reckless and aggressive when he was young, but he was brave and decisive. When he first met Confucius, he must have seen "bullying Confucius" in his fist. However, although Confucius was not weak in force, he was not tit for tat. Instead, he combines rigidity and softness, "setting a gift to lure Lutz slightly" and "serving behind Lutz". It can be said that Confucius influenced Luz with etiquette and shut him out. On a trip to the north, Confucius asked his three disciples, Yan Gonghe, to state their ambitions separately, but he poured out his dream of strengthening the country by using troops: May white feathers be like the moon, bells and drums be like chimes, red feathers hear the sound of the sun, and colorful flags float to the ground. Strike it by mobilizing troops, and it will be prosperous for thousands of miles, only by ear, so that the second son of my husband will follow! This ideal description is extremely spectacular, but unfortunately history has not given him a chance. If he really has a chance to fight in a unified way, he may be able to cover the sky with flags and become a hero for a while. Confucius listened to his brave words and praised: what a warrior! Confucius was besieged in the Song Dynasty, and Luz was very angry. When he picked up the halberd, he had to fight each other for three lilies. Therefore, Confucius often lamented: Lutz is more aggressive and brave than me, but he just doesn't know how to handle things. Even when he was waiting beside Confucius, Luz showed a strong look. Facing Lutz's courage, Confucius taught him: a gentleman thinks righteousness is the best, a gentleman is brave and unscrupulous, and a villain is a thief. Even so, he was not enlightened enough to change his temper.

Lutz is very generous. When the disciples talked about their ambitions around Confucius, Luz said without hesitation: I would like to share my things with my friends, ride horses and share clothes. I wish to travel light, encourage with my friends, and have no regrets. ) Lutz here is a chivalrous man who values friendship over money.

Lutz advocates hard work and has considerable political talent. The Analects of Confucius says that if you don't hear new knowledge, you don't want to hear it until you hear it implemented. (Lutz has a taste, but if you can't do it, you will be afraid. ) Lutz learned the knowledge of being a man and being in politics from Confucius. In order to practice what he learned, he used to be a minister of Lu. Ceng Zhi has been in Pu for three years, which Confucius called "three good". Regarding his political ability, Lutz said in another article describing his ambition: A country that rides a thousand times depends on a big country and travels with the teacher, and is hungry; I have done it. Compared with three years, I can be brave and know one side. Confucius is also full of praise for this, thinking that he can rule Fu by going through the country thousands of times. It can be seen that Luz does have a set of methods to govern the place. The Analects of Confucius also holds that among the disciples of Confucius, Lutz and Ran Qiu are outstanding politically.

Lutz will not blindly follow. He is almost the only Confucius disciple who dares to criticize Confucius face to face and show his attitude. Lutz went to defend his country and become an official. Before he left, he asked Confucius how to govern the country. Confucius said that governing a country must first "correct its name". Lutz scoffed at this and thought it was pedantic and ridiculous. Although Confucius later explained the so-called "irregular names" for a long time, I believe Luz still has reservations. Lutz showed a clear attitude towards Confucius' words and deeds three times: displeasure. Once, Confucius went to see Nanzi, the patriotic queen, and Nanzi also enjoyed a "high reputation" for her elegant demeanor and beauty. Although Confucius hardly touched Nanzi's hand, Luz was still unhappy. Confucius swore at once: If I do something against etiquette, let God punish me (if I don't do it, I will hate it! I hate it! )。 Once again, if he wanted to rebel in Lu, he invited Confucius to go. Confucius, with his great desire to govern and secure the country with his own theory, intends to realize his grand ideal. When Lutz came up, he threw cold water on him: there is nowhere to go, so why go to him? It is estimated that Confucius did not succeed later. On another occasion, the Jin people rebelled against the Buddha and recruited Confucius, and Confucius moved his mind again. As a result, Lutz took a clear-cut stand against it, saying, didn't you teach us that "a gentleman doesn't enter, but a horse cannot be recalled"? Why go back on our word now? Confucius estimated that he was red-faced, and argued: Even if white things are dyed, they will not be black (white, nirvana but not purple). Had to give up again. When Confucius traveled around the world, he passed by the state of Chen and was besieged by people with different political views. He ran out of ammunition and food. Confucius had to practice the method of spiritual victory. Lutz came to see him angrily and said, Do gentlemen sometimes have difficulties? Confucius had to make "painting cakes to satisfy hunger" and supplement material cakes with spiritual cakes, saying: a gentleman can stick to morality when he is in trouble, and a villain will run amok when he is in trouble. Until later, Zi Gong was sent to Chu to bring reinforcements. On one occasion, Luz asked Gaozi to be a local governor, and Confucius said it was harmful to the children there. Luz asked: There are population, land and food here. Why do you need to learn to be called learned? People and countries have it, so why study and then study? ) Confucius has nothing to say but say: I only hate those who can talk. When all the students fully believe in the teacher's views, teaching and behavior, Luz can stand up repeatedly and express his personal views different from those of the teacher. This is the lovely Luz with unique personality. This is the only way. Even Confucius has to look at his face before deciding what to do.

Lutz was loyal to Confucius, so he also gained the trust of Confucius. Confucius was 54 years old when he traveled around the world. Luz, then 45, resolutely resigned and followed in his footsteps. As a guard of Confucius, he began a fourteen-year journey. Therefore, Confucius once praised him: since I got Luz, no one dared to insult me. Confucius said: if my idea can't come true, I will go overseas by boat. Who will follow me except Lutz? If you can't, you can float in the sea with a fork. For me, what is the reason? ) Trapped in Cai Chen, Luz cooked pig's trotters, and Confucius ate them without asking. This also indirectly reflects their relationship. Luz met Confucius in his twenties, and he entered the door of Confucius very early. Among all the disciples of Confucius, he is an old and famous disciple. Maybe Yan Hui's father, Yan Lu, is longer than Luz. While relying on his extraordinary skills as a guardian of Confucius, he helped the teacher to manage his younger brothers who entered the post-entry stage as a apprentice, and the younger brothers also held an elder ceremony for Luz. Until he was killed in his sixties, he followed Confucius for most of his life, which was unique among Confucius disciples.

In 48 1 BC, Luz was appointed as the city governor of Dr. Kong Mao, the doctor of health. The next year, in 480 BC, a coup took place in Weiguo. When Lutz heard about it, his attitude was very clear: "Those who eat it will not avoid its difficulties" and resolutely went. In the battle, Luz was injured and his tassel was broken. Lutz remembered the teacher's teaching, and the gentleman died, so he was cut into a paste in the process of re-tying the tassel. Sixty two. Some people laugh too pedantic and are still doing these things at this time. However, Lutz, who is over 60 years old, came with the idea of doing his duty. He clearly knew that his luck had run out on this trip, but he came decisively. Even without tassels, it is still difficult to go back alive, even though he had the courage to "anticlimactic" when he was young. He used his own behavior to practice the Confucius teacher's "killing himself to become a human being." Knowing a son is like a father, knowing a disciple is like a teacher. When Confucius heard that the country was in civil strife and Luz had left, he sighed: Oh, I'm dead! As expected. "Book of Rites" said: After the death of Luz, Confucius cried Luz in the atrium, some people paid homage to Luz, and Confucius knelt down. It is said that Confucius "covered the meat" after chopping people into meat paste, and never ate meat or looked at it again. And every time I hear thunder, I feel uneasy. Lutz was the spiritual pillar of Confucius after the death of his proud disciple Yan Hui and his son Kong Li, and his death gave Confucius a huge and heavy blow. One year after the death of Lutz, Confucius' closest partner and student, Confucius also died.

Lutz practiced Confucius' ideal and route all his life, actively joined the WTO, participated in the discussion of state affairs, inherited Confucius' realistic spirit of "knowing what he did but not doing it" and realized his pursuit of governing the country; At the same time, I am loyal to my teachers, to my country, to my responsibilities, to difficulties, and to my duty till death do us part. At this point, he is very similar to Tan Sitong, both of whom died of national disaster and sudden death. The relationship between Tan Sitong and Kang Youwei is also a teacher-friend relationship. After Kang Youwei initiated the political reform, Tan Sitong fearlessly devoted himself to the ideal he adhered to. After Tan's death, Kang Youwei also praised Tan Sitong: there will be no resurrection (Tan Sitong's word is resurrection). What does An Youwei have? We don't know whether Tan Sitong knows Lutz, but two people separated by 2,500 years have the same admirable character, shining forever and becoming a model for future generations to look up to. In any case, Lutz deserves to be regarded as the most outstanding disciple of Confucius and the most loyal patron saint of Confucianism. He is also worthy of being an indomitable spirit.

Su Shi once said: Lutz's courage, Zi Gong's comments and You Ran's wisdom are all rare and precious people in the world. Lutz should be immortal.

Lutz was educated.

Original text:

When Luz met Confucius, Confucius said, "Why are you so happy?" Right: "Good long sword." Confucius said, "That's not what I asked. It's just that you can do what you can with your son to increase your knowledge. How can you reach it? "... Luz said," There are bamboos in Nanshan. If you don't rub it, you can straighten it. If you cut it, it will lead to rhinoceros skin. With this statement, what else do you learn? "Confucius said," Is it beneficial to include feathers and sharpen them? " Lutz leaned down and said, "to be taught. "

Translation:

When Luz met Confucius, Confucius said to Luz, "What do you like?" Lutz replied, "I like long swords." Confucius said, "I have to ask this. I just said, with your talent and knowledge, how can anyone catch up? " Lutz said: "There is a kind of bamboo in Nanshan, which is straight and does not knead or bake. After sharpening, it can penetrate the thick skin of rhinoceros. Therefore, why go through the learning process? " Confucius said, "If you put feathers in the tail of an arrow and sharpen it, won't the arrow shoot deeper and farther?" Lutz thanked him and said, "I really benefited a lot."

Revelation:

Talent is important, but learning and hard work the day after tomorrow are equally important. Adding them to 1 is the icing on the cake. In addition, it makes sense to say that "you should not be complacent, but always push yourself to go further".

Lutz tried his best to serve his relatives, but he was worse than the poor.

Original text:

Zhou, Lu. The family is poor. Eat Chenopodium and Pogostemon regularly. It's a hundred miles away for parents. Kiss or not. Travel south to Chu. Take a hundred buses from the bus. Accumulate thousands of minutes. Tired of sitting. Eat while lying on a tripod. This is a sigh. Although I want to eat quinoa. Parents' negative rice. You can't have it. Confucius said. You are also a relative. It can be said that there is a lot of noise. Vance, the dead are also.

Translation:

Luz grew up in a very poor family, and he couldn't eat well or dress well. He is afraid that his parents are not well nourished. In order to feed his parents, he had to go hundreds of miles away to buy rice and take it home to support his parents. Although it is hard, Luz is full of enthusiasm and filial piety has never stopped. Later, Luz developed, and the environment and material conditions were good, but his parents had passed away. In such a good living environment, he wanted to repay his parents' kindness, but his parents were no longer around, and he was very sad.

Kong Old Master Q praised Luz as a very filial person. Filial piety is not measured by material things, but your sincere respect for your parents. Therefore, Confucius said that if you don't honor your parents, even if you have filial piety, it is not filial piety, because it is similar to raising livestock at home.

Revelation:

From this story, we can feel that there is no difference in filial piety. As long as you have filial piety, you can do your best regardless of hardships under any circumstances.

In a person's life, the time spent with his parents is only shortened day by day. Especially in modern society, some people leave home at the age of thirteen or fourteen, and leave their parents after finishing high school and graduate school. We can spend such a short time with our parents, should we cherish the days with our parents and honor them well? Modern parents often say with emotion that he doesn't expect his children to be filial to him, as long as he doesn't worry, he is very lucky.

In today's society, many parents are sent to nursing homes alone in their later years, and their children rarely ask and visit, so they are lonely and feel particularly sad. After starting a family, a person devotes his whole life to his children, society and work, and works tirelessly for most of his life. In old age, it's time to settle down. However, we can see that many old people are in a very miserable situation in their later years. Nobody asked them, they were lonely and helpless. Some even have three meals, not because they are poor, but because they can't take care of themselves. Once a person enters old age, his children are not around, and his relatives and neighbors leave him one by one, he will lose his fighting spirit and hope for life, and all diseases will be eroded more easily.

We read that in order to let his parents eat better food, Luz can go thousands of miles and hundreds of miles away to produce rice and bring it back to support his parents. We really can't understand the filial piety of the ancients. I really want to learn from the ancients when I am moved.
