The Uprising Significance of Shangnan Uprising

Shangnan Uprising is another large-scale armed uprising in Dabie Mountain area after Jute Uprising. Its main experience is: upholding the leadership of the party, strengthening the transportation of troops, promoting armed riots, creating a revolutionary army with farmers as the main body, establishing rural base areas, and developing and strengthening revolutionary forces.

1On May 6th, 929, the thunder of armed riots broke out in Shangcheng district, which rolled over the land of Shangnan, destroyed the reactionary rule and feudal forces in this area, and established the red regime of Hubei, Henan and Anhui and the Second Division of the Red Army. This is the mall uprising recorded in the revolutionary history of China. Because it is a long summer, people also call it a long summer uprising.
